this is some of the information about it

Pharmstandard, the Russian company who developed and owns Afobazol published this paper at a conference Sept 2, 2009.

Afobazol: a New Generation of Anti-anxiety Drugs

• Selective anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) medication not related to benzodiazepines

• Interacts with specific sigma-1 (non-benzodiazepine) receptors in the brain cells

• Reactivates receptor sensitivity to GABA-mediator (an inhibitor of extraexcitement)

and thus provides the anti-anxiety effect

• Has a combined anxiolytic and slight activating effect

• Diminishes and/or blocks up a feeling of panic and being “edgy”, apprehensive

expectation, fear, uneasiness, difficulties sleeping, restlessness, muscle tension,

fatigue

• Alleviates various anxiety symptoms such as palpitations, sweating, hot flushes,

chills, cold or sweaty hands, dizziness, dry mouth, lump in a throat, nausea,

diarrhea or constipation

Afobazol: Outstanding Features and Advantages

• Excellent safety characteristics:

- Does not cause drug dependency/ rebound effect

- Does not cause sedation, myorelaxation

- Does not cause memory or attention concentration falls (no need to avoid

driving while medication is taken)

• Over-the-counter medication

• Anxiolytic effect launches on the 5th-7th day of treatment, maximum effect is

achieved in 2-4 weeks of treatment

• Especially helpful for individuals with accentuated emotional instability, excessive

and persistent sense of apprehension, uneasiness, difficulties stress coping and

adaptation

i'm currently on day 2 of my trial, i'm taking 10mg 3x a day (with food).

i got 60 pills from russia (where it is made and sold) quite inexpensively, so it will last me 3 weeks at least, so its long enough for me to report back i think.

just curious if anyone has given this a chance in the past? did it help? how long did you use it for?

I'm sure I don't have to lecture you on the unwise nature of using a psychiatric medication without the supervision of a medical professional. Just be sure to be very conservative with your dosing & look out for side effects. I've no doubt you will have done your research on those fronts though. (having said that, I can't find an awful lot of information on the drug bar some discussion on one forum)

I do find it a bit disconcerting that this medication is largely unknown outside of Russia... if it really was safe & effective surely there would have been more interest in the international medical community by now. (it's been around since the "early 2000s" apparently...)

Still, let us know how you get on with it... I hope it works for you. :)

I've tried Gidazepam before. It's a Russian concoction- quasi-benzo type anti-anxiety drug. It worked fantastically. It felt nothing like a benzo but it melted away my anxiety. I'm not sure about how the drug worked, or if there was addiction potential, but yea, I was a guinea pig myself with Russian pharmacuticals. Good luck- I'm very interested in how this is working for you. And I recommend a look at Gidazepam.

I think I have noticed a reduction in gad and sa. I'm about 8 days in and it is supposed to increase in effect at around 2-3 weeks point.

ive been mildly depressed for a while and don't really get out much however, so it's difficult to know the full extent of effects.

And I'm on day 18 of nofap aswell, which makes it more difficult to report.

Just started 60ng/day three days ago, so ill find out. However, background is complex: I'm a recovering opioid addict & SEVERE GABAergic addict. So hoping afobazole (& potentially others like etifoxine) will have some positive impacts on memory, articulation, vision, concentration, anhedonia, anxiety, etc since getting off GABA(a)-PAMs (-6 months ago).

ill keep everyone updated

(also Rx'd 4mg buprenorphine & 2400mg gabapentin daily, occasional depakote, 750-1000mg/daily, for seizure precautions from benzo & 2m2b withdrawal. Cannabis & ethanol use maybe 1-2x monthly maximum)
