I've recently been diagnosed with having lupus and sjorgen syndrome, the doctors have put me on endep to take at night to help me sleep. I haven't started taking it just yet.
I have been told that its highly addictive and that I shouldn't be taking it while smoking weed, as I used weed as a pain relief because I don't want to become addictive to pain killers again.
I was told to not smoke weed on the days that I am going to take endep.
What can happen if I mix the two? I just want the pain to stop. I also take Fenac and panadol daily, until they can start me on the right medication after more tests.
Any help with this would be great.

I don't see anything that says that endep is addictive, as most antidepressants aren't.

I'm going to move this over to Cannabis Discussion.

I had to look this up because I'm not familiar with this brand name. It's a low dose of amitriptyline which can work for pain and help with sleep. Have you ever taken meds like this before or is this your first time? Smoking weed on the same day shouldn't be a big problem. But start out slowly until you know how you will react with it (just like the warning labels say with driving or working with machinery)

It's a good thing to be concerned about possible drug interactions. I think the first time I was prescribed this back in the 80's, I made the mistake of drinking beer with it. (40 mg I believe) Good thing I was at home because I have no memory of the evening and woke up the next morning confused, thinking I may have done something stupid. I think you will be alright, just go slow with smoking weed at the same time.

I havent experienced it but was researching the combo as I have some endep for sleep. Racing heart was one side effects reported by other users when combining, but a lot of people also reported no ill effects. I decided not to combine them just in case.

Also I'm pretty sure amitriptyline is more effective as a sleep aid when used occasionally rather than regularly.
