anyone else feel groggy, un motivated and REALLY depressed for days after stopping adderall? what helps?

dont know about withdrawals i havent stopped taking mine yet.
i do like 90 mgs a day, but i didnt know that stopping after daily use causes withdrawals??
does it? so this would mean its physically addictive? curious to see what other people say about withdrawling off amphetamine and dextroamphetamine for the symptoms

you'll be fine. . I do this shit all the time. Smoke a lil weed. I doubt you'll wanna jerk it. Don't plan on being "On Point" for at least five days.

It only helps if you take it every day, taking it when you start withdrawing wont do anything to help. Even if you are taking it every day, it wont help nearly as much as its hyped up to be.

@Eyesontheroll - You take a drug every day for long enough and you're bound to get some physical withdrawal. Doesn't matter what drug it is, even pot. Is it going to be a big deal? No. But if thats not a risk you're willing to take i will say never go to anything worse than amp.

Yes 5-htp will help. And redbulls. Even Mucinex-DM *60mgs DXM per pill.

I take 100mgs throughout the day to get a good buzz. 40mgs at a time.

From what I usually hear reported, amp withdrawal generally consists of eating anything that doesn't move, feeling lethargic, sleeping a lot and feeling depressed.

I've heard of people using supplements to help stimulate production of neurotransmitters that are depleted (primarily serotonin, norepinephrine and especially dopamine) so taking precursors to these NT's might help. I really don't know how efficacious it would be but 5-Hour energy shots contain both L-phenylalanine and L-tyrosine which are both precursors to dopamine and norepinephrine. Many amp users also like a little caffeine upon cessation as well so that may help.

Overall, the withdrawals are not substantially debilitating relative to other addictive substances such as opioids or GABAergics. Inpatient detox facilities don't even admit amphetamine or methamphetamine users because the withdrawal isn't severe enough to warrant medical attention so don't worry too much. A good attitude with healthy expectations can truly go a long way. Don't worry yourself into feeling worse than you need to.

The only really problematic symptom for most (and this really only applies to true amp addicts) is the craving that will accompany cessation.

I never get wds from adderall. But I prefer opiates so it could be that the opiates are helping with what little wd I may be having after an adderall binge.

Taking 90mg of Adderall daily, even only for a couple months, will almost certainly cause you to experience withdrawal effects whenever you stop taking it (unless you slowly tapper down your dose, of course, & even doing that won't guarantee that you'll feel absolutely no symptoms of withdrawal)... Adderall withdrawal doesn't cause physical illness the way Heroin withdrawal for example does; however, Adderall withdrawal does include physical symptoms (increased sleeping, increased appetite, etc.) , as well as many psychological/mental symptoms which can be quite serious & a cause for concern with people who go from taking significantly large amounts of Amphetamines to taking none at all.

I took 120mgs yesterday nite till now.... Happened to find an old bottle of perc 5s..... Haven't had real opiates in about a year. I've eaten about 15 of those fuckers now

Fear helps. No really - if your last experience with adderall before quitting was so horrible and uncomfortable that it made you start panicking and never wanting to do it again, then I've found that I don't feel so groggy or unmotivated in the days after I quit using it. But that's not something you can really plan on ahead of time lol

Sleep, nutrition (and not over-doing the nutrition by over-eating, which a lot of people seem to do accidentally), and water.

Booze can help if your body actually physically hurts (this isn't due to physical withdrawals, but because of physical exhaustion) in the days that follow quitting adderall - but booze isn't the best idea for psychological withdrawals. I've found that the days start to blur together and go by REALLY quickly if I turn to alcohol because I don't have any adderall.

Some people start smoking more when they run out of adderall, but for me cigarettes always make me feel like shit during the few days after running out of adderall. So I wouldn't recommend smoking.

so you are joking about taking 450mg's right?

to each their own, but 20-30mg's blows me up. but i guess opiates are more my thing.

Wait 3-4 days... no caffiene.. no nothing. then start at 50-60mgs per diem .... thats too much you're taking brother man.

this is a different subject....i was wondering if theres a difference between name brand and barr generics? they have to have the same amount of amp in them right?

You're not alone bro, amphetamine withdrawal is a bitch. Nothing is gonna heal it except time. I start to feel like I'm returning to reality after 4 days sober. Don't feel bad you're not responding to your text messages. Don't feel bad the only time you're motivated to move around is when you're going to the fridge. Don't feel bad your entire world view is warped and you're feeling cynical about everything. It's just temporary and it will pass. Go to school/work, put in the minimal amount of effort required to get by, go home, eat, eat, eat, lay in bed, and just ride it out.

You guys must be joking, right? It's too early for April Fools. Sorry, I'm really not trying to be condescending, but these dosages you guys are taking are hard to fathom.

I mean, come on, 450, 250, where does it end? Do you guys realize what you're doing to your minds and body? Let's pretend that you're being honest in how much you're taking (450 is an out of this world dose....I truly don't believe it), but for the sake of argument....Are you just looking to get a high from the drug and nothing else? Are you actually trying to use the drug to work, study, etc? If you skyrocket to doses like that, your tolerance will never recover. You will never be able to enjoy the drug unless you cut back on how high you're dosing.

You guys really need to slow down. These drugs might be medically accepted but they are just as harsh on your body as any other drug if you choose to abuse them. Please PM me if you have any questions. Don't let this spiral out of control as it sounds like it already has.

Cheers
