Might seem like a weird question, but I was wondering why Adderall is marked as a Schedule II substance while drugs like Benzos are marked as Schedule IV.

I've never tried Benzos (only Adderall, but not in recreational doses), but it seems like they are a lot more addicting and the effects a lot more "strong" (potential to fall asleep quickly/pass out, etc.)

The government does have a lot of pretty biased/skewed decisions, so this could be another one. But, at least from my observations, Benzos seem to be a lot more worthy of higher scheduling over drugs like Adderall.

all you have to do is look at Marijuana in Schedule I to figure out the Federal Drug Schedules don't mean anything

...except how much trouble you're going to get in if you're in possession of or are selling something out of a certain schedule (with the exception of cannabis).

Right, yeah. Forgot about cannabis being in Schedule I - but then again, as said above, even though it's Schedule I in non-mass quantities most law enforcement are pretty lax on weed vs. another Schedule I drug (such as Cocaine).

Was just curious. I know Federal Scheduling doesn't really mean much at all, but yeah the punishment with having Benzos is probably less than Adderall. Although Adderall is so widely sold recreationally (especially in school/college locations) which may be why it's pushed higher on scheduling.

Well certainly the laws are different for each schedule, that I agree with. I was just trying to say that because a drug is a lower Schedule number doesnt make it more dangerous and/or susceptible to addiction. It all comes down to the individual and their personal preferences and willpower.

That's why I said with the exception of cannabis.

And cocaine is Schedule II. It's used in surgeries as a topical anesthetic.

As NT said, this has been discussed before, and there is plenty of reading if you use the forum search engine (I checked it out myself right now).

So I'm gonna close this one, sorry.
