Stimulants Adderall 10MG IR, question.

Was recently prescribed adderall 10mg IR, I can either take it once or twice a day. My question is, does it take a while for your body to get used to it when it comes to side effects? I’m noticing headaches, upset stomach, weak feeling. They all eventually go away, but I’m trying to determine if this medicine is right for me. I started taking it last Thursday.

far as i know it takes a little bit for the side effects to stop. i had a friend, though, who took it regularly and his upset stomach never went away. he had to get a separate script for nausea. worth asking your dr about.

Blah, that’s annoying. I don’t even know if it’s actually doing anything to be honest. I felt like everything seemed crisper and clearer. I don’t know if that what it’s supposed to do though.

it's supposed to help you think more clearly, allegedly. i think the idea is that adding a stimulant calms the brain activity in some people, although it sounds counterintuitive.

Uh you will feel side effects. As you continue to build tolerance that will sort of go away. You just need to get used to the medication and take it when you to be optimally productive / social.

Be sure to take like weekends off occasionally. It helps alot.

Also sense it is adderall and you can't get the straight to brain blood rush. Just eat them snorting is almost a waste.

i have to completely disagree with this advice. first of all, taking weekends off when you're taking it therapeutically is a bad idea. it will set you back a few days and make you feel like shit.
and the second lie- snorting it is a waste- is completely untrue as more of the product will get to your brain faster. snorting it makes it more powerful faster, but also makes it not last as long. if you were prescribed adderall by a doctor, take it as prescribed so you can have the most appreciable response.

You aren't able to rapidly metabolize adderall. Snorting may feel like a boost but its going to be processed the same with minimal rush. If you inject adderall you will not get a rush because of how it is metabolized.

100% agree. I wouldn't be able to enjoy my weekends after working five days without my meds. I get demotivated, anxious, depressed etc. because why should my job get the benefit of my meds and me/myself don't on my two days off.

Just to quote this to show I am not taking sides.
Snorting etc is not "on the table" when taking the medication for the condition.
AND if there are ADHD people out there who can take weekend breaks, and they work for them, then great.... As this enforces the learning to cope with ADHD and maybe one day the meds are not necessary anymore.

And, again, not picking sides, just saying my 2 cents


and to the OP. if the meds feel like they are working, then give it 2 weeks and the side effects you described will go away, or you will know why they are happening. - If they don't, then maybe speak to your doc to try something else.

good plan. hopefully it'll really improve your production. i know a ton of people it's worked fantastic for.
