Now, I'm not sure if any of you have ever gone to this website, but I never had. Eventually, my curiosity got the best of me after seeing so many of these damn commercials where the kid smokes and all his friends change his clothes and cut his hair and all the sudden he is a fat, bald, jobless, loser who lives at home with his parents that I needed to see what sort of stuff is on this website.

Well I just checked it out, and I'm not sure if I am more offended at how they portray smokers or more shocked out some of the bullshit on there. There is a documentary called "stoners in the mist" that shows the most stereotypical stoner of all time, to the point that it is just ridiculous. Even the people I know that I consider the most hardcore stoners and such don't come anything close what they show on that website. They show them sitting on a couch not moving or talking for days at a time, they show a girl at school with a piece of brownie in her hair and then eats it, and many other things that you wouldn't believe.

Also, they have a whole section dedicated to facts about marijuana. Some of these "facts" would include: The fact that it is super addictive! I guess I must have missed that one. The fact that its smoke contains four times more carcinogens than cigarette smoke. The fact that if your entire life will be ruined and turned upside down if you even try to smoke, even once, because apparently that is when its extreme addictiveness kicks in.

I don't know about you guys, but I don't know where they are getting all of their facts about weed. Where was I when weed became as addictive as heroin? Where was I when smoking weed causes the same effects on the brain as long time crack use? Where was I when weed became worse than cigarettes? Where was I when smoking automatically made you drop out of school, quit your job, and then commit suicide?

I knew going into this that the site would be extremely biased in a way to keep kids away from smoking weed, but this is just uncalled for. I would suggest if you haven't seen this website you do and watch the documentary, if anything just for a good laugh and how stupid these people are.

That site is great to roll a doobie and puff it and laugh at the retardation.

Kids won't listen to that shit anyway, just a waste of money. I also love how they are dedicated to show stupid commercials about weed instead of other drugs. Those commercials make no sense, like how if you smoke weed, you fail to make your own decisions, or the stupid ass one about how smoking weed hurts more than you, but I guess it can hurt your family because they believe the bullshit about it, but it really doesn't hurt me unless I would encounter legal trouble. I was happy when I seen a commercial about alcohol abuse aimed at minors but I don't think it was above the influence.

If it was not for this, I would say class-action lawsuit for libel. :p

As if there are not plenty of alcohol abusers above 18...

There is even a part that says it is a fact that a majority of people, especially teenagers don't smoke. It says that the amount of people smoking has been down and decreasing in recent years. Now that is true bullshit if I have ever heard it. In fact, at least a quarter of all my friends (maybe even more) smoke daily or every other day, half either have smoked before of just occasionally, and only a select few of people I even just know, that I'm not even friends with, haven't smoked before.

i take it you're not very bright either. the fact that you think the amount of people smoking has been decreasing in recent years "is true bullshit" based off what your friends too (obviously not a random sample) demonstrates a high level of ignorance on your part. i suggest you do some reading on statistics before opening your mouth.

It would be "I suggest you read some statistic." in the ideal form, but even "…reading of statistic…" would be better. Reading "on" statistics would involve sitting on statistics or reading about what statistics are. This is based not based on what his friends said, but the amount of people smoking in the US has increased.

Peace,
PL

wait marijuana is not extremely addicting...i dont believe you...the website said it was true

the kid is retarded for sampling his friends for statistics .. iam not sure whats dumber the website or his post....ROFL

I do find the "majority of kids don't smoke ; so you shouldn't smoke " funny ... so if

You guys misunderstood what I was trying to say, or maybe the way I worded it just made it sound stupid.

High Times did an article about that "Stoners in the Mist" documentary and how the White House found it to be too offensive and devoid of truth to promote it as they'd originally planned. "Stoners in the Mist" was meant to be used as a PSA on radio and TV, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen due to a lack of public interest on sites like Youtube and Above the Influence's own website.

And the worst part? The movie is funded 100% by you and me, and it cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to produce, according to the HT article.

sweatstoned cry me a river bout some gay anti-weed video you saw...its not that big of a deal..they are always like that...

just smoke a bowl and get over it

I just noticed that their point of "Most people do not smoke, so why should you?" is encouraging you to succumb to The Influence™. Lawl.

Hey douchebags, if you don't like a post simply because you don't agree with what the person's trying to say, use your happy little finger to click on the back button. You get over it. Lol

Anyway, yeah everyone I know including teachers and parents think those commercials are a crock of shit. And I'm utterly disgusted at that little video and the fact that my money is going towards that. America just rules

I like how their message is dont let other people control your actions...unless of course those other people are them.

If you smoke weed it makes you fat, quitting makes you skinny...

I knew these commercials were bullshit when i saw the infamous "brain on drugs" commercial.

Eh, quitting does make you skinnier. Ive quit recently due to drug testing and going from a 4 time a day habit to none at all has decreased my appetite a lot.

Ever since I started smoking I never eat that much while sober, I only pig out when I get the munchies. Lately I've been eating only a small dinner, besides on the days I smoke.

I don't know about you guys, but I don't know where they are getting all of their facts about weed.

The DEA, NIDA, FDA and various other government organizations that said they were facts... and if you pay taxes, you helped fund all of it...

you wont find erowid quoted on any anti drug website, god knows its the best source of unbiased information about drugs...

They tell the truth about few drugs, LSD is addictive, it'll make you go insane, you will have a bad trip 100% of the time, there is no way to avoid a bad trip, it will ruin your life......
