Opioids 800mg of Oxycontin and no desireable effects?

First of all, before anyone says I am broken; I know.... I have had a CYP450 2d6 and 3a4 genetic marker test after not showing any reaction to insane amounts of regular psychotropic medications and it came back that I was an "irregular metabolizer" and quite possibly something like a hyper-metabolizer.

Once in my life I was able to get a nice buzz at least when I could get about 320mg or more of oxycodone together which is undoubtedly insane to begin with. But lately it seems no matter how much I take I can never get anything close to what those first couple dozen times were. I saved up a large collection this time and managed to take it about 45m after taking cimetidine (for the CYP450 inhibition) and even with 800mg I didn't seem to get anything out of the endeavor.

Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with me? I am really starting to get pissed off that I might be stuck taking methadone all my life which is the only drug that seemingly can still illicit an affect without the need to IV it.

I did have about 40mg of methadone in my system from about 30h prior to taking this huge dose which shouldn't have been nearly enough for the blockading effect that it can produce at high doses.

Is there anything that I can do besides IVing everything that can make taking opioids more rewarding?

Edit: I really should have just used those new micron filters shouldn't I? :)
 
Well from what I have gathered the hyperactivity of a CYP450 enzyme would make codeine extremely potent, but the few times I have taken it, even in heroic doses I never got anywhere near the depressant effects I get with my daily methadone.

Like you said, I probably should stop looking to chase something that may never happen again. I am taking 45mg of d-amphetamine a day, which I can get a muted effect from, and I have been prescribed diazepam before which didn't seem to be nearly as ineffective as some drugs are. Nicotine oddly enough is something that I can chain smoke a carton of with no tolerance and not get anything out of. Oddly enough though, when I do take huge amounts of drugs like I did the other night with the oxycodone I might not get the depressant effects but I can still be left with a nasty dependency where my body just seems to need it, which is how I have been on methadone for a while.

Edit: I guess this could just be a thread to see if anyone else has such a bizarre reaction to regular semi-synthetics opioids like hydrocodone and oxycodone and what, if anything, they have done to help trick their bodies into accepting them.

Edit 2: I have gotten acceptable results with IV oxycodone (with micron filtering) and with oxymorphone and hydromorphone IV as well. 100mg IV is usually enough to put me into a nicely warm opioid bliss, even with 100mg of methadone a day.

How do you take the oxy? If oral, then perhaps you could try something that bypasses first pass metabolism like snorting or plugging if you haven't already. I don't know man if I was taking nearly a gram and not getting any desired effects I'd probably throw in the towel.

I question why you seek the high. If I never experienced a high from oxy then I wouldn't be taking it at all. It's definitely interesting that you seek this high with the same reckless abandon of an addict yet you've seemingly never had the high of one.

Well, I did just that! I railed about half of the powdered preparation, and plugged the rest about 5m later while making sure to take it all at once.

I once was able to get blitzed from like 240mg taken intra-nasally, but while that would be a high dose for most anyone, I took it to be my own genetic curse, but even taking huge doses produces nothing at all anymore. I guess the high may be more symbolic of a time where things were better to me and that's why I have an intense urge to re-experience it, but nonetheless I am curious as to why not even an insane dose can do anything.

Edit: And yes... this was genuine 40mg Oxycontin pills, the ones with the orange colored coating with "40" on one side and "OC" on the other. So don't go on and tell me these were bunk pills, as my friend got plenty inebriated off the 40mg tablet I through his way.

I have been taking anywhere from 60mg-180mg of methadone a day now for about 3 years, but as I said in the post above, I managed to taper myself down from about 100mg a day to 40mg the day before I took the oxy, and if I am right, it shouldn't be able to have that blockade effect at such a low amount, and tolerance wouldn't seem to be so incredibly high as to not get any noticeable results from a whopping 800mg.
 
^40mg can certainly cause the blockade. There isn't an established range for it to start, but from the experiences I'm familiar with, 40mg is sufficient for a good percentage of people.

I wasn't aware that such a low dose could produce such a profound blockade effect. Though to bring up many instances where I haven't had methadone for many days I can take large doses of hydrocodone and oxycodone and while it may provide some relief from withdrawal, it still might not produce any desirable effects. Could that be a result of being on methadone for a long period of time?

I would say I take it about 10 out of every 14 days, I pick it up every two weeks and will oftentimes go without for a period of days, and this was one of those times. The reason I tapered down to such a low amount of methadone is because I simply didn't have any.
 
Damn dude. I just don't even know what to say to be honest. I can take up to 320 throughout a day and be awake (for a while). I can't even imagine taking 800 and not feeling it. I have dealers that take that much but, thats daily for them. You have definitely got yourself in a predicament.

The best advice would be try and stop everything. Taper and get some suboxone.

Luckily this was more of a one time experiment to make certain I am for sure not just in a position where more would be better. I think I could add more to the point of choking on the talc powder in my nose and nothing positive would come out of it.

When I was taking oxycodone every day about 4 years ago I could take about 400mg at once and be able to nod, but why I couldn't get anything out of it the past couple years is just baffling to me.

If you read the suboxone thread you would understand that buprenorphine seems to have that ridiculous tendency to get metabolized super fast as well for me and I can't afford 4 8mg tablets a day at like $7 a pill compared to a month's methadone at $40 where with methadone I get a nice 48h grace period between doses before withdrawal starts getting unbearable.

Edit: I am not a dealer using massive doses just because I can.
 
You have a probelm with cyp450 then I would reccomend you just stay away from drugs that depend on it. Im not 100% sure but I think oxymorphone or morphine or any drug that doesn't need to use that enzyme. Look on wikipedia for narcotics that don't depend on it. Hope that helps.

You are correct, at least for me, like I said above, oxymorphone and hydromorphone when taken IV can be extremely pleasurable, but I did have an experience when hydromorphone stopped working by taking it intra-nasally, and only would produce an effect when IVed, and I voluntarily stopped getting that refilled because I didn't want to be a pin cushion and I was scaring myself in how much I could use in one day.
 
good god man, 800mg and not get high?

that just blows my mind.

i've never been on methadone and am not completely aware of its blocking ability, but 800mg should get you past the 40mg of methadone easily so i'm guessing you just have a hellacious tolerance. go easy on that stuff, bud.
 
Well Im not sure but I think dilaudid uses the enzyme also, but don't qoute me on that.
 
Just found a 40mg pill in a crevasse between my bed boards. I will update after I prep for injection for a comparison as I don't have any opioids and can feel that withdrawal creeping up.
