8 circuits of Consciousness and which DRUGS them on

i can post several pages i wrote on the 8 circuits (mainly focused on the first five) if you want, though its quite long

although i dont "believe" in the circuit model, ive used it to help get to know myself and work out problems, and its working quite nicely

I remember Huxley used the metaphor of the fire antipodes of the brain, of the mind -- like Australia being discovered by Captain Cook. This is the first task of the psychedelic philosopher. So over the years I've produced dozens of sketch maps of the culvas circles, the circuits or the levels of consciousness. These were crude words to build up a vocabulary or a cartography of inner space. I don't use the notion of eight circuits now as much as I did, but that's why i did it.

Sorry to bump an old post, but

I agree with the general feel of the theory but like to think of it more in terms of dimensions. Just as in a 1 dimensional space there is a dot, in a 2 dimensional there is a line, in three there is a cube....

As you increase dimensions you increase data....

data of....... your self?

at the 4th dimension you are your self, aka atman....

at the 7th, maybe 8th you hae more data about your self leading to Self, all selves.....

these theories are found in all sorts of places btw, I first read about it as chakras, then in John c. Lilly as states of consciousness, then Castenada talks about moving the assemblage point of perceptions which I combined with this, moving the assemblage point of perceptions up your 'spine' up the chakras perceiving higher dimensions, higher worlds, then finally to Gurdjieff's 7 centers which are a much better fit than the chakras in my opinion.

All these theories fit together, the trick is to understand the mathematical basis of the universe, and how scale works. It all came together for me after reading a treasured book:

'tertium organum' by p.d. Ouspensky

hopefully someone finds this constuctive :)

^ill ahve to look into that book

(from the original post, which was originally about DRUGS corresponding to the circuits anyway):
"Future Circuits
8 Spiritual Cosmic: ketamine, high dosage DXM, high dosage nitrous, jimson weed, DMT, high dosage LSD
7 Mythic Immortal: high dose LSD, Datura, DMT
6 Psychic Psionic: shrooms, mescaline, peyote, LSD, mornin glory
5 Sensory Hedonic: MDMA (ecstasy), marijuana, opium, low shroom dose
Past Circuits
4 Social Civilized: unknown
3 Conceptual Paleolithic: stimulants, nicotine
2 Emotional Mammalian: alcohol, amyl nitrate
1 Physical Invertebrate: opiates, benzo's, prozac, PCP, prozac, nicotine"

seems like PCP should be on circuit 2, since users can get easily emotional/aggressive

i'm not sure why Datura or jimson weed (i thought they were the same thing?) are in the higher circuits... they REDUCE consciousness, not heighten it like psychedelics, they move you closer to sleep (giving dreamlike hallucinations that you usually think are real)... i dont think datura has anything to do with the circuit model (dosnt activate any of those circuits)

i can see why dissociatives are at the cosmic level, since they seperate one from his body (sort of seperating him fromt eh physical reality (although of course his thoughts are still based on a physical system, his brain))

shouldnt MDMA be on 4 along with 5? it creates such a desire to be social... though i suppose maybe it hsouldnt be on 4, since it doesnt increase ones sense of morality and in fact reduces ones sense of social roles and rules

shouldnt stimulants also be on the 2nd circuit? i know someone who uses stimulants to fight, they do make aggression easier, and dont they excite the fight or flight drive?

why is PCP on circuit 1 and DXM/Ketamine are on Circuit 8? What about p-hole doses surely they are as strong as DXM mind-movies/ "spiritual".

I wonder if these "states" actually exist, or if the brain merely simulates them

Erm... let me explain better....

6 Psychic Psionic:

Through meditation, drugs or what have ye, apparantly you gain access to:

awareness of the great information network in which we swim

So by taking your high doses of acid and getting into this "network", surely it would be testable, you could predict bad events, know things that were kept secretive to you etc

Although there's lot's of reported cases of psychicness. There's still not a shred of actual evidence.

When your on acid, you think you can fly. But you can't. Are these states spiritual, or merely delusions produced from a regular brain not working correctly?

I had a friend who would do psychometry when he'd taken acid and come up with *a lot* of freakishly accurate future stuff, but that's just an anecdote... I thought this site http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer/lsd/staf6.htm was interesting regarding the theory of psychedelics and ESP however, although there's no scientific data, which is a bit of a surprise considering how much time the military put into researching mind control via acid and daft psi experiments... I wonder why they never combined the two.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone thinks that if you follow Leary's theory about the four circuits for future evolution, then (once you've suspended your disbelief) does it mean that if we experiment with drugs which stimulate these circuits now, then hypothetically it will in some way change our children by pushing them further up the evolutionary ladder as it were?
