Mental Health 47% Of Americans Believe Seeking Therapy Is A Sign Of Weakness

haha, what does it say? (actually legit curious now)

It says that after Jesus was crucified he showed up in America for a while, and that it was documented on golden plates and buried in what would eventually become Manchester new York.

They also believe that included with the plates were magic seer stones that allowed joseph Smith, who had been told where to find the plates by an angel, to transcribe the plates into English.

But also told him not to show anyone else the plates. And also then took them away to heaven after he had translated them into the book of mormon so nobody could prove they existed and would have to take it all on faith.

It also says a lot more shit than that but that's the short version of how the mormon religion supposedly originates.

Yeh, we've got the same shit about Jesus rocking up at Glastobury, which inspired the hymn 'Jerusalem'.

I'm willing to bet that if jesus actually existed, he had more important things on his mind than travelling to England to watch mediocre commercial bands with thousands of middle class pricks in a muddy field...

It's always worth keeping in mind with any poll involving Americans...

A LOT of Americans are completely retarded. Like, easily 20% on the low side.

So any poll on human stupidity can be guaranteed to show at least 20% stupid.

And that's just the completely retarded, there's a lot more who are only partially retarded.

Idiots do, thinking it will make them some sort of person would be more of an excellent hire (thinking that the employers will fill some employment quotas for disabled persons). Nope not true at all!

Good employers don't wanna fill quotas, they want people who can do their damn job on somewhat of a regular basis. :D

I was gonna say that's mental, but I guess it's no more farfetched than every other religion.

Hm I think this depends how you ask people, but I honestly think this is a good number; as in that's a lot of people who approve of seeking help

I find it ironic because it takes a lot of strength and courage to ask for help when you need it. NOT admitting something is wrong or that you need help is the true weakness.

I don't know. I mean, a survey could word a question like would you seek professional advice? And plenty would answer yes to that. I don't know that it's necessarily indicative of anything. I mean I bet people who work with people all day, like psychiatrists who see other psychiatrists and counselors who see other counselors, so this doesn't mean much to me. I know most people don't work these jobs but these may be the people responding

As for people seeking therapy/professional advice in general, I don't think it means anything. Some might argue that taking drugs based on advice is weak but I think that's up to the individual to decide. Everybody's free to judge the results of course hehe

This is troubling. I hope that the study design didn't hold up. That said, in this era, there is so much hate going on, despite some social advances. I'm not surprised through that lens. People are stressed out. They're looking for a mindset of control, regardless of whom they hurt for it.
