Hi guys, i was on Opana (160mg taken orally per day) for about a year. I didn't take then for pain, just pleasure lol. I started at 40mg and my last few months ended up at 160mg per day. I kept needing more and more to feel normal, I asked myself how many more of these damn pills can I take before someone finds me dead. I have a 9 month old son at home and wanted to get clean for him, myself and my wife.

I basically went cold turkey from 160mg and that first week was hell. Fortunately I had some leftover gabapentin and baclofen from a previous injury. I used them for the last 3 weeks to help me sleep and calm me down (which they have tremendously!). I was taking at least 60mg baclofen and around 4000 gabapentin. I stopped taking the baclofen and gabapentin 4 days ago

Yesterday as I was leaving work I actually felt pretty damn good for a couple hours, was listening to music and felt great. Today I feel okay, kind of so-so. I'm just having a hard time envisioning life without taking pills, I'm trying my hardest but it's kind of depressing.

Also, i had an appointment with my primary doctor for a physical (haven't had one in years), she noticed I was having some pain from a previous injury from a herniated disc in my back and wrote me an rx for more baclofen and gabapentin. Should I even bother with this stuff?

Thanks!

Hi and congrats for being clean from opioids. 160mg of Opana is a large amount and pretty much the same I used for recreational intentions when compared to oxycodone.

I can say from experience that gabapentin and pregabalin helps a lot for pain. I am currently on 600mgs of gabapentin three times a day and it atleast halves the amount of oxycodone needed to get my pain to a toleratable levels. Of course I am not encouraging you to use them but when it comes to a decision of starting oxymorphone again or either trying gabapentin for pain I would suggest to use gabapentin.

It also helps PAWS as it acts in GABA receptors.

I wish I would have stopped my Oxycodone use after a year instead of trying to stop it after years of use...

Thanks, it's been a rough road but it's been worth it. Perhaps I will use my new rx's for the gabapentin and baclofen to help with any remaining pain and anxiety related to the remainder of the withdrawal/part of paws.

This sucks, you think you can control your habits and before you know it they are controlling you...
