All the polling shows, and has shown for a while, that it will be a close race.
All of the American people know, and have known for a while, that if Trump wins there will be a peaceful transfer of power.
And if Harris wins, there will not.
If I was a one issue voter, that would be enough for me. Democracy.

The polls have gone back and forth over that knife edge for a while.
Wonder what the October surprise will be. (Or the attempted October surprise)

I think the October surprise was Kamala forgetting there was a presidential election coming up in a few weeks. She only had to run a 4 month campaign, yet somehow it's like she's already lost all of the momentum she had.

She could've separated herself from Biden early on, but decided to be wishy washy about that until very recently.
She could've come out with bold new proposals early, but decided to play it safe.
Where the hell is the energy?

If you look at where previous democratic candidates were at this point, things are looking bleak.

I'm off to see the wizard.

If you're sick of shock-value catchphrases and vague generalizations, here's an intelligent and nuanced discussion of US economics and political policies:

(edit) PS-- There are cute chicks at the end!

I’ve been banned from the main social media apps for asking this question exactly as I’m phrasing it below:

“Is there anywhere on the internet that allows people in democrat run cities to coordinate and organize on how to prepare for Trump unleashing the military on democrat run cities as he has repeatedly stated he will do?”

So this isn’t really the best place to ask, but pretty sure BL values free speech more than American big tech apps. Although I agree BL isn’t the place to have the discussion but it needs to be had somewhere, somewhere secure.

Well that didn't last very long

When people pass out literature at the polls. They know they aren't affecting many votes.
It's all about enthusiasm. The close elections which have been the norm for a while depend pretty much 100% on turnout.
Each side wants their side to not be discouraged and turn out to vote.
I'm seeing some really fucked up Proud Boy shit right now to try to scare Dems from the polls. A story for another day.

The right, in particular, is financing a lot of polls to try to skew polls their way. Again, turnout. Discourage the other side from voting.

I am to the point where I am just saying "I don't know". There's a lot of bullshit flooding the zone.

I'll say it again. It's going to be close. We'll see if I'm right.

Then, this election won't be over till the inauguration if Trump loses. Sucks.

I hope I'm wrong but I think there's a lot of coping going on here.

I think Trump wins and it's probably not going to be that close.

Again, hopefully I'm wrong. But when you are polling far behind where previous democratic nominees were at this late stage, I think there is reason for concern.

Then you have the enthusiasm gap.

One side who has been thirsting for revenge everyday since 2020-- this is their time to act on all that pent up rage. Think they'll have any issues with voter turnout in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and elsewhere?

Then the other side, who hasn't built on her momentum coming out of the convention. Who wasted valuable time pandering to get votes she already had. Going on the View and Stephen Colbert. Owning trump trolls in the audience at her rally. Gee, nice job there. You really accomplished a lot.

Then you have the antifa pro Hamas wing of the party-- they aren't voting for her either.

The math ain't mathing for me.

Should've announced at the convention--

1. Legalization
2. Public option
3. Living wage
4. Focus more on peace, love, unity, and respect.

Then build on that. Not waste all your time saying you have no disagreement with the old dude we just kicked out.
Also again... where is the fucking Live Aid/We are the World type event with Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and all the rest? Think Trump wouldn't be utilizing that star power if he had it?

I don't have time or energy presently to get this going. One point. I'm speaking of enthusiasm for already decided voters... getting out the vote. I'll respectfully have to disagree with that not being there. You seem to be speaking of snagging those last voters on the fence. I dunno. I'm close to it at the moment.
I'm certainly seeing that violent rage.
Jan. 6 and what I'm seeing right now at the polls makes me even more convinced that Trump is a blight on our democracy. Proud Boys are the new Brown Shirts and Jan. 6 was the beer hall putsch. I'll pray we don't get to the night of the long knives.
We'll see if I'm right about it being close, I guess.
