2024 US Presidential Election

Do people really care who a curated pop star supports?

Maybe that's what's wrong with this country
I couldn't name a single song by Taylor Swift.

But I think that any person (celebrity or not), if they feel strongly about the importance of an election, should speak openly about who they support.

And besides, Trump kinda brought this on himself:

Wasn't the entire side racists, like one side was literally just racists. "Both sides"

Well, you might say they're all racists. But most people make a distinction between people who are against the desecration of historical monuments/symbols and outright white supremacists.

i watched the whole thing mal and it's vague as hell. sure, a minute later he tried to backtrack, when he was pressed, but he said the words.

the charlottesville rally was organized under the banner of "unite the right". among the groups represented at the rally were:
  • the kkk
  • the daily stormer
  • the right stuff
  • the rise above movement
  • the league of the south
  • vanguard america
  • the proud boys
  • etc.
all white-nationalist, white-supremacist groups. some outspoken neo-nazis. they were carrying nazi and neo-nazi flags and symbols, deus vult symbols and a variety of anti-semitic symbols. they were shouting white supremacy and anti-semitic chants.

if you are a very fine person who just wants to protest the removal of confederate statues, this is not the company you keep...

(happy to see your getting over your complete disinterest in u.s. politics :) )
I'm not even remotely interested in your pantomime. We've just had our own here, and all the utopian fools who thought Labour would be the change we needed are already lamenting their decision. It will be the same for you if the Democrats win.

What I am interested in though is this bullshit 'fact checking' nonsense. It's part of the Anglo-American strategy for controlling the narrative, for the benefit of the establishment and not the people. You should watch the video of Tucker Carlson interviewing Mike Benz, it is quite startling how sophisticated the system is that has been developed over the past decade or so.

I think there's a strong possibility this may be the last election worth a damn anyway, for both USA and UK. Agenda 2030 is full steam ahead, and in a few short years it won't matter anymore.. there won't be any way to vote our way out of the totalitarian system that is about to spring upon everyone.

The people who were shouting "Jews will not replace us" were protesting desecration of monuments?
That was the first night. I watched the, quite long, video of that night and wish I could find it again. A small crowd of counter protestors (backing the statue removal) very peaceably surrounded a statue. The Neo-Nazis marched in with Tiki torches chanting "Jews will not replace us" and surrounded them. Then they closed in and attacked them viciously, clubbing them, etc.. It was bad.

The next day, both sides were "a little upset".
The permit for the main protest against the removal had been revoked, so there were actually no legal protestors in that group anyway.
There were counter protestors who were saying publicly that Antifa being there that day likely saved their life.

Then, a neo nazi drove his car into the crowd of counter protestors and then backed back up over them at high speed. Killing one young lady and injuring 35 people.

*********

Anyway, that first night... Tiki torches... chanting hate... surrounding and attacking a much smaller, peaceful group. There were no "good people".

And yeah, Trump is known for dog whistles. Actually, his are close to real whistles. He said it but retained plausible deniability.

plausible deniability

good point.

i think it's quite deliberate. consider the recent discussion on the subject of abortion. all of his lies about "every legal scholar on the planet wanted this" aside, it's hard to get a straight answer on the issue right now - because the campaign, and the gop in general, know they're hugely out of step with popular opinion on this one important issue. their response is vague, fluffy and lost. he's trying hard to have his cake and eat it on the issue and people see right through it.

And it happens over and over with him. He says something racist, about establishing a dictatorship, etc., etc., but kind of weasels so he has an out if called on it. His core people know exactly what he is saying.
You could believe it was innocuous if it happened once or a handful of times, but it's constant. It's to stay in the news, piss off liberals, and appeal to his base. (last two overlap)
And, if he screws up and doesn't have an out, he was "just kidding".

Oh yeah that was pretty fucked up NGL

I get her making a statement or whatever but I find it ridiculous that anyone would base their vote on what their favorite entertainer says. Not saying ppl don't do it, just that it's absurd and mindless...

come on man. he's a real straight-shooter and you always know exactly where he stands on any issue!

Many people voted for Trump because he's a celebrity

So I guess we can rename the White House to the presidential palace.
Well, this was on X

akafacehots, right wing influencer, if you wanna check.

I'm noticing a distinct thread of cat here. From save the cats to cat ladies all the way back to grabbing them by the pussy and pussy hats.
