2024 US Presidential Election

Right now in Chicago, demonstrators are confronting the police and throwing rocks, etc at police after tearing down a security fence at the "end point" of the march at the DNC. Police are arresting demonstrators.

Goddamnit, we better not see a repeat of the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago.

For those unfamiliar:
The anti-war protesters (Yippies and MOBE) got violent, the police responded with significantly more violence, a lot of people got hurt, it was big fucking mess, and it was all seen on TV in America's living rooms. The public's distorted reaction was "Democrats cause violence" and thus that asshole Richard Nixon easily won and the war raged on longer than it probably would have.
Similarly, if Trump gets elected-- well, he said he thought Netanyahu should be more aggressive,, so....

Looks like the police were able to stand down the protesters that dismantled part of the outer security fence, arrested a few people and disperse the situation.

Still, if he loses and decides to trump out another conspiracy about election not being carried out fair?

I will do my part on election day to help keep him removed from control.

As for what his base decides to do in the aftermath? So many of their 'thought leaders' are in prison due to January 6th and those that remain seem to be purely milking them for various financial scams. I can't really envision widespread coordinated efforts to protest or challenge a loss, but it's going to be interesting to see how a bunch of misogynistic racists cope with their God-King losing to a multiracial woman.

Probably lots of whining and perhaps some infighting as they blame each other

Aye, likewise. Most of those that support the dude are just struggling with the same shit the rest of us are struggling with. We are all suffering, and, he's exploiting that in a dangerous way that is very obvious unless you've bought into his cult of personality.

That America has no good MAT's , like we have in Germany is beyond me.
Heroin and morphine's readily available on prescription, no joke. The latter even as take home for as much as 30 days and up to 1200 mg\daily.
This would help your people, like big time.

And on insurance that is, for everybody, even homeless, no income. Come in, get your morphine. Yeah. Like that. Literally walk out with a prescription of 10 grams of morphine, pharmacy grade.
In Germany heroin in a pill form is legal. Yet not established....
But they will, if needed. Amphetamines for crack users is in discussion and will certainly come.
Not the end of prohibition, but as close as it gets, these days. Pretty cool.
