The Talmud is a khazarian (I took a look at the Jewish Encyclopedia at McGill University's library in Montreal, Montreal has a pretty sizable hassidic orthodox jewish population so it's around and it does talk about the Khazar Khanate/Kingdom, well has an entry for it. So inb4 "twoofer" insults, it was indeed a place that was pretty much southern Ukraine in 850-1100 then the Mongols killed a whole lot of them, then the Kievian Russ, the predecessors of Russians.

Speaking of Russia, why am I finding so many old maps that say anything east of Lithuania/Poland is a landmass larger than current Russia and is called Tartaria? Have you guys seen St-Peterburg/been to it? It's in the very European area of Russia and there's something out of ordinary about that city, not only is it amazingly beautiful, but there's some art in those palaces that is so advanced I wonder how it could have been, St-Petersburg was built on the ruins of a small village I hear? Also that Obelisk they got in the largest city square in Europe, it's a headscratcher how they managed to put it there.

I'm just someone very interested in history. I've seen maps from before Victorian times that indicate Russia but Tartaria is also there, more to the east, I guess the Asian looking Russians are the Tartarians, past the Urals. Would they be related to the small minority in Crimea called the Tatars? An NHL player who came from Ukraine (rather rare) last name's is Tatar. It's like anything beyond Poland/Lithuania to the east that wasn't Roman Catholic or Protestant territory is a big mystery.

Im not jewish, so i cant speak for MGS, but the talmud and the kaballah are not of the same origins as the torah. Plenty of traditional jews are not zionists.

As for issue relating to the Talmud, one of the most interesting sources by far that I've found is Israel Shakak (grew up in a concentration camp, moved to Israel, lived on a kibbutz, served in the army, became a humanistic atheist [although never a Marxist] and an ardent anti-Zionist on humanistic grounds)'s Jewish History, Jewish Religion, particularly chapter 3 et seq.; it deals much with what is in the Talmud and other works that is just not available to those who don't know Hebrew (and in some cases, Aramaic, which excludes even most Israeli Jews); the greatest misconception that one could have is that the modern Jewish religion is based mostly on the Tanakh/Old Testament as it is known to Christians, but rather it's based on the weight of all these years of legalistic exegesis most of which is incredibly racist and Jewish-supremacist in nature.

I've not yet been to Israel so I am not the best person to respond to your sentiments. A good read on the subject is The Case For Israel. Dershowitz had feelings like the ones expressed below until he went to Israel and saw for himself. What he saw was (to paraphrase) a liberal democracy where Arabs have more rights than in any Arab country. I assume you know the history of the creation of the state of Israel, that the Jews accepted the UN partition and the Arabs rejected it. That a war was fought and won as a result. To dismiss Israel as a terrorist state worse than South Africa tells me you have made up your mind. I look forward to having first hand experience one day so I can put sentiments seen below in their proper context but it is not my battle for the time being. For anyone to take such a strong and (what strikes me as ) hate filled position is just...well really don't have the words.
