Yeah I used to be republican, but they have gotten way to far right for me. I am all for smaller government and states rights, but I don't like the whole christian puritanical ethos they are trying to push on me.
Honestly I think that instead of a president we should just get 100 republicans and 100 democrats, give them a task to accomplish (working by themselves in their party) and just flip a coin and see if its heads republicans pass legislation, tails democrats pass legislation. Things might actually get done, and we wouldn't have to worry about the illusion of having a say in government anymore. Considering that both parties are turning this country into a nation of uneducated debtors in which the vast majority of voters (which is such a low turnout anyways) can't help but vote against their best interest because they look at saying the other party's name as being some kind of slur.
Ugh....intellectual, and social progress takes a nosedive once again.
