Hey SM0K3Y thanks for telling us a little about your self it was dope as fuck to read!
So do you stay in Camden or you just cop there?

I could almost throw a rock to camden, It'd be about a 5 minute walk or a 2 minute car ride to the outskirts (the "Not-so-bad" part of camden)

I know a lot of people out there though, I spend a good portion of my time in camden since it's so close. Also pretty funny was the fact that I was given a street name and didn't even ask or make it up. My dad they called "Red" and everyone called me "Red Junior" which turned into "Junior" which turned into "J.R."

^ I want to see those pics of Scarfo and Scarfo Jr, when you get a chance
And what about that fuck Joey Merlino, he supposedly still runs the Philly mob

I'm not sure about Joey Merlino, I wonder if he is related to a "Tony Merlino" - My uncle got me a job with some dude who was supposed to be mafioso type, and he used to <edited out due to obvious reasons> through his company that sold casino & restaurant equipment (and I used to catch him snorting meth n shit) but I guess it's highly possible that he is related to him though I'll never know for sure...

and it's actually Nicky Scarfo Jr. and Nicky Scarfo III I believe. It could be Jr. & Sr. - All I know is the younger one was about 25-30 in the one picture, I think it was either 95 or 01, depending on which bid my uncle was doing. I have all kinds of other pictures, there could be more mob guys but I dunno all of them. The only reason I knew it was the scarfo's was because my uncle wrote on the pics "Nicky Scarfo - Rahway Prison" and "Nicky Scarfo Jr. - <Something> Correctional"

I'll dig them up on sunday when it quits raining here. My car makes a nasty nasty squeel in the rain, I gotta replace a few pullies this weekend.

It will be two years at the end of July.

At first it made me nod out like a mug but after awhile it doesnt. The shit i fucking hate the most is sweating so damn much on that shit!
How long do you wanna be on it for?

^ The fuck
I would think no one would want to have that fucking monkey on there back for that long

Methadone is serious, I actually typed a whole response but had to close it to actually do work at work (who actually does their work?) but suboxone is meant to be a (somewhat) quick maintenance and recovery drug. And they recommend at LEAST a year on subs. Methadone is meant for longer term, 1-2 years +. My dad was on methadone for 8 years, and my mom has been on and off for 14 years (longer than she used dope for) and she recently made the switch over to subs (she was the first on her clinic to do so) and they are still telling her another year to get off, although she plans on just walking off in a few months.

I don't think people realize that methadone is a LONG term maintenance recovery medicine. 10 years is really on par for what people usually do. I've never heard anyone getting on and off methadone before 5 years by a doctors order. Of course doctors will tell you "yes we can take you down sooner" but if you follow a doctors orders it could be a long time. Of course there are people prescribed to methadone for pain and stuff and that's different. But most often it's quite some time. That's why I like suboxone. I've done quick recoveries of 1 week (though it sucks) and been over and done with it

Yeah I mean fuck, my uncle has been on it for 5 or 6 years now and he is just a shell of his former self
He seriously looks dead and this was a very healthy and pretty nice size guy when I was growing up, I always looked up to him

Now it's just sad and after seeing that transition I said fuck that I would never try methadone, I just kicked cold turkey and used lyrica for my wd

And I know you can get weekly take homes and all that but still the done just holds you back from doing so many things you could potentially be doing instead of waiting in a line every morning just so you're not sick that day

It just doesn't seem worth it to me and all they really care about is the money anyway

It's funny because methadone acts different with different people. I know one guy who gained 120lbs and he was already 230 to begin with. He looks like a lady bug with small arms and legs sticking out. I also know one lady who got on a clinic and dropped 50lbs and looks like a twig now. People also have a habit of switching a dope habit to coke when they get on methadone since they can't get high anymore.

Also I have done without subs for w/d but I go to work 6 days a week and there is no way I could work and be sick, I just couldn't do it. Subs work great after day 3, just the first few days clean always sucks anyway. Subs I think are always the best bet for getting clean and being done BUT-

The reason why methadone clinics function like that isn't just to get everyone to come every morning so they keep the money (although it probably is somewhat) but also it's because dope addicts need stability as well. A lot of them don't have jobs and they need to get into a routine of getting clean and getting on track. Most clinics get you clean and try to get you a job or on a job & housing program, or will try to help you get ID needed for SSI, Disability, and help you get gov't forms filled out to get your life in order.

Methadone clinics aren't all bad, though I agree they probably like to keep some long time users so they keep government funding. It's pretty sad, but I don't think some of the older addicts really know how things are run and work, otherwise they would be done quickly with a few months of suboxone.

i used to have the same opinion regarding methadone as you. its for scumbags. its bad. blahblahblah.

and like you, i have kicked cold turkey from dope a few times. but, i cant stay clean from dope. i was at my wits end when i finally considered methadone maintenance. nothing else worked for my dope addiction. but methadone works for me. no longer do i have to worry about going sick, and calling in sick to work. no longer do i have to blow all my $ on dope. now im saving my $. now im a productive, law abiding citizen. i got my shit together, thanks to methadone.

you obviously have the wrong idea about methadone, bill. just because your uncle couldnt get his shit together when he was on MMT doesnt mean methadone is bad.

You got the wrong impression all together
I know how tough this game is

And I don't think it's for scum bags or anything like that, those are labels and I hate to label anyone
If it works for you I'm glad that you now have a better life than you had before

I was just saying from my own experience that I don't think it's the best option for opiate addicts even know like you yeah it could be
But like smokey said, I think the quick taper sub route is the best way to go if you don't want to kick cold turkey or you keep kicking but going back...

That's cuz it gets your ass tired, not really so much high.

I mean you can/do get high from it, it's just sedating, not really a high like opiates. My parents used to say the done naps were the worst part since an hour or two after taking your dose you had to sleep no matter where you were.

Bill I agree with you and rock knows it..to me its just trading one opiate for another, one addiction for another
