1/10 people receive a stimulating high from opiates?

I think its totally possible man.
I popped like 5 5/325 perc's and I had trouble sleeping that night. I wasn't "tweaking" but I was sort of spun. With a slight tipsy feeling.

Once upon a time, a doctor told me that 1 out of 10 people experience stimulation when on opiates. The other 9, rather than getting a speedy high, feel heavy sedation. For me, I can clean a house when on opiates, but most of my friends do indeed get rather tired. Was my doctor's claim legitimate? Based on the variety of people I know that do opiates, his estimate seems valid. Let me know your thoughts on this matter.

Being a healthcare professional myself, the experience I have come to know is this. That the ones like yourself and myself, who get the stimulating high are the ones with the addicitive tendencies. Yet the ones who only get heavily sedated or knocked cold do not have that addictive tendency, due probably to our brain chemistries. Also I have observed that those without tendency for addiction often are nauseated from the opiates. Myself, I do not like amphetamines and have never tried cocaine cause I know I don't like the feeling the very few times I have tried amphetamines.

have you tried a low doseage of adderall? i did 40mgs my first time and had a blast. it was a lot more fun that i expected with tons of euphoria. ritalin doesnt do shit for me tho except for a racey heart and sweating.

I don't understand why someone would want to move around on opiates. All my friends want to be active and talkative while on them while I want to sit or lay down motionless without speaking a word (ruining my nod, leave me alone when Im on opiates).

I guess I should also note that I am not a "people person" on or off drugs. I'm perfectly content being a loner.

Ahaha! that's great man, i feel the same way!

I feel a bit "elevated", every time I take my Morphine for pain. I feel almost normal, and perhaps if I take caffeine with it, I can do more. I feel drowsy, but my mind is flying, but damn back hurts, so aborts it all...then, just drowsy.

I get both sides, depending on whether I'm tired or just woke up.

the more i hear about these so-called 'Ad.H.D..ddd.-SD.Qd." sufferers i think...
well...
do they get dehydrated when they drink water and shit piles when they're hungry? wtf are y'all talking about? it's a tool designed to milk mammals.

Definitely get a energizing high from opiates and do not have ADD
I used to work in a 4 star restaurant and had to move real quick, if I didn't have like an 80 or so for my 6 hour shift I would be helluv unproductive and lazy. If I had what I needed I'd be moving like I was on speed.

I initially get some stimulation when I do opiates, especially the first hour or two, and especially with oxycodone.

Me too. Also, while opiates tend to reduce my libido, it sometimes increases it for the first couple hours. I do feel energized early in an opiate dose at times... don't know if I'd call it a direct 'stimulant' effect for certain, but I feel good and get up and do chores or go out or whatever. Part I'm sure is chronic pain that I have... obviously if I take something that makes the pain diminish, I'll be elated and up for doing things.

ADHD sufferers feel calm when they take stimulants.
I wonder if they would feel stimulated on opiates?

With dextroampthetamine, at least for me, it's more of a mental thing. It may be a stimulant, but at low dose, mentally I can think more clearly, without all these racing thoughts and the like. So in a sense I feel calmer. It seemed like the mechanism of action on the brain for an ADD like me was more significant than an overall stimulant effect... one aspect overriding an other, so to speak

I don't get tired from opiates except when they're wearing off. Snorting oxy feels like I'm snorting a stimulant.

When using opiates, I'm much more outgoing, sociable, energetic, and MUCH more productive.

To me, hydrocodone is much more stimulating than oxycodone, though. I've noticed a lot of people in this thread say it's the other way around for themselves. To each his/her own, I guess.

I can only catch a nod if I've taken a high dose, or if I've taken a moderate dose and smoked some herb w/ it.
