The right to bare and consume Intoxicants.

I think adults should be able to ingest whatever they want as long as kids don't have access. Vancouver decriminalized drugs and Portland i believe and those city's went downhill quickly . Probably from people moving there for that reason and adding to the homeless population.

It should be legal but doing it on a sidewalk or park where kids go shouldn't be legal. Always a few to ruin it for the rest.

We can legally buy alcohol and that's just as harmful if not more then most drugs

247 years ago they probably wouldn't have even conceived of such an amendment because they were probably be like... Why would we need it ? Because all drugs were legal at the time. And they wouldn't of wrote about allowing people to carry and consume drugs legally.

Ye gotta agree on that one, I genuinely can't see any reason to why solely drug usage by adults is antisocial or even immoral in any way. The practice of fining people for enjoying a blunt after a hard weeks work or doing club drugs in you know a club, is an extremely infantile policy, and it there is no indication that this kind of practice has had any beneficial effects for society in any way.

How would you feel if you were homeless, like becoming sober?

Homeless people have the right to try to hide it...I never shot up in front of a kid that's ridiculous

In my opinion all drugs should be legal.
Two words: war crimes.

I fundamentally agree with people having the right to do whatever they want to their own bodies, as well as chemical liberties, however drugs aren't that simple, because it cannot be separated from people doing things to other people's bodies and lives.

Also, Ross Ulbricht's speech at this conference really made me think and might be food for thought:

(Skip to 6:20, ignore all the unrelated political and bitcoin salesmanship shit)

I can relate to him in some sense, by the fact that when I was a teenager I peer pressured many others into trying heroin. About 5 years later fent showed up. There are several good personal friends of mine, including my highschool sweetheart, that are now dead because of me. I still can't process that after 20 years, and I'm not sure I ever will fully.

Are drugs really even an appropriate analogy to freedom when they can inherently take that very freedom away from you in a myriad of ways through addiction? It's rather a deep philosophical paradox to me.

Should people be granted the freedom to remove their own freedom? Sure... but nobody chooses to become an addict... that's the point.

yes legal for you to do with your body whatever you want, but not without education & addiction support, and the world has a shit track record there....

for all practical reasons drugs are decriminalised for users already

And yes. Just a comment. The Paranoia is caused by Society not the drug. haha.

I don't get paranoia when I smoke weed now ... because I don't have too. lol.

I might get paranoia from being too high ... but not from smoking. Weed.

Got to say I find your phrasing "the right to bare and consume intoxicants" very humorous and clever on many levels, never seens this twist before. I'm absolutely going to use this phrasing myself when the right moments present themself in my everyday life.

By decriminalizing the posession of small amounts of hard drugs but not creating a legal market for production and sale of these drugs, the situation of the consumers becomes only minimaly better. They're still forced to pay black market prices and use impure products. Also the government leaves a huge market in the hands of criminal organisations which means no taxes are being collected (that could be used for financing counseling/rehabs/detoxes for example) and they have free hand to corrupt parts of the legal economy (banks help to wash money, bribes for police/border control, harbor workers are being bribed etc.) and violent turf fights continue to happen. The only way to make this work would be a complete legalisation and creation of government controlled production and distribution model while using the profits to fund counselling and detox/rehab facilities.
