Phenibut and, or etifoxine ?

I'm looking for something to use one at the most two times a week, for easing neurosis .

Ive come down to etifoxine, and or phenibut. Ideally I would pick one or the other.

Phenibut from experience does seem to have rebound anxiety effects. However Ive never used it more than twice a week, in the many years Ive used it, so I have the mental discpline part down despite the intense rebound Ive felt from it.

Efifoxine appears to be gentlier, and seems to have more neurochemical benefits compared to phenibut more neurotropic effects. I dont have experience with this.

Have you used both, and in your experience what seems to work better for you?

Hey there @Innerpeace :)

I don´t want to derail you thread, but I have to ask, do you have experience with other Gabapentinoids? See, Phenibut is a Gabapentinoid, as is Gabapentin (Neurontin) and Pregabalin (Lyrica) among others.

For most people, if they were to tell me that Phenibut was effective, I would at least have them try Gabapentin. It seems to me that Gabapentin is more effective than Phenibut and with less side effects, not to mention it would be covered by insurance.

That´s my first question. I wish I could say I had experience with Etifoxine. As a matter of fact, this is the first time I have even heard of the stuff. Let me first say, I´m fascinated and disppointed that I didn´t know about this stuff. It seems to be a Benzodiazepine-esque substance sans many of the unwanted side effects like sedation and/or motor coordination issues. I wish I knew more about it. It is a very intriguing substance from my point of view.

I think you know the only way of knowing is by experimentation. We can only speculate, roughly. Also, it´s a lot different when we are discussing recreational substance use compared to ¨legitimate/medical¨ usage. It´s easy to say ¨Xanax is going to fuck you up...¨ and more difficult to say ¨is this an appropriate long-term choice for my neve pain¨.

I welcome anyone who wants to come and share their opinions, but all of that comes with a disclaimer of ambiguity, You are going to be the best and final judge regardless of what you hear from us. I tell people to treat new medications like a science experiment. You might think that sounds silly. You should take notes each day, it doesn´t have to be a novel; Day 1: No effects apparent, Day 2: Subjective feelings of relaxation, easy to get to sleep...

You get the idea. If more people would take the time and be mindful regarding medicine, supplements and even food, they would make better choices and feel better. It´s too easy for one day to fade into another, especially when you´re working a lot/family etc. Take the time to take some notes. You will be so empowered by this knowledge next time you walk into you doctor´s office.

Ole man Keif is done rambling.

No experience with gabapentoids.

Good point on insurance covering a drug they would cover.

Im not looking for them for nerve pain , for ease of neurosis, when and if it happens. I had an episode last week that was bad. Mainly for sleep, depper rem sleep, and sometimes recreational for sex. (dose dependent) 500 mgs more for this. For sleep a gram or even one and a half grams, depending on the potency of course.
(some drugs are years old and potency has degraded a lot [others like phenibut , possibly not tested may be weak])

You're correct about treating the drug like a science project seeing how it seems to feel for you.

I had a friend pass away April 5th, he was seventy three and tried heroin before. In his experience Xanax was the worst drug to cease , with massive negative effects, from him to kick, so I am cautious hearing this from a friend, and do take heed to his warning. Xanax, like many gaba drugs that bind strongly to gaba a causing more forgetfulness, fogginess, motor coordination loss. Not really interested in these types.

Ideally ghb would be had, I could ask doctor for a script , more than likely would get a script for baclofen possibly. It would be a miracle if doctor wrote me a sodium oxybate (ghb) script, and insurance would cover.

Gaba b seems to be overall better than gaba a for these negative effects, from some people. On paper this seems to be the case peroid, and would always welcome someones experience on gaba a vs gaba b drugs effecting motor coordination, as I know things are not always in real life as on paper, and its still a decent guide. Of course they're exceptions on gaba a not binding so strongly like etifoxine.

Thank you for your rant. There's some great wisdom you are the best judge despite what has worked for someone else or what someone else says.

been taking pregabalin weekly for about 18-20 months and it's great, tried Phenibut a couple of time and found it dirty with tolerance growing at an alarming rate even when taken once a week on consecutive weeks.

I was planning on moving from pregab to phenibut but while the effects are similar i just didn't like phenibut. my plan is to give Gabapentin a try instead when I restock.

I take GHB/GBL pretty often as well and wouldn't really use it on myself for anxiety relief or sleep.

might be worth looking at some nootropics either on their own or in combo with other things at a lower dose. For sleep I find a combo of a 2-3 of camomile, magnolia bark, lemon balm,and/or passionflower to be very good, add/swap in a bit of valerian root as well which also helps with anxiety

What is the purpose you take gaba drugs ?

I thought ghb/gbl is for getting into fast and deep rem repair sleep . I've heard sex is amazing on it.

What do you use it for if not sleep?

As far as herbal I use magnesium citrate and glycinate , glycine,l theanine sometimes .

I used to take passion flower , and other herbs and ime passion flower is not too be used at least a few days to a week after rolling. It effects serotonin, and I had severe serotonin syndrome, after 5 mapb experience. Not a fan of 5 htp afterwards as well.

started as an alchohol substitute which is gaba itself, I just like downers and my gaga receptors are fried

If I take too much it nods me out, but it does it in a way that is eyes roll back and mode, you're aware of it happening, it's not like blacking out until you black out. however i find the duration of effect too short for it to be a practical sedative for me personally to something to get good nights sleep with, it's more something that better initiates sleep and give a few hours - which does align with what you say but it's a bit more nuanced for me

sex is good and I enjoy the euphoria too, but I can't ejaculate when taking in which is very frustrating, the Euphoria when combined with mephedrone is epic, though again there won't be any happy ending for me combing the 2 even though mephedrone is even more sexual. At the other end combine it with 2C-B blows my nuts off, very euphoric and very sexual, ejaculation is very easy, you feel super sensitive.. so 1 combo for euphoria and 1 for sex is how take GBL. or on it's own as an alcohol substitute just to chill out with, great with a joint.

I didn't know that, good info thanks for sharing

Not a gabapemtanoid but have you tried kava kava?

No , Id rather not, as I threw about 125 gs of kratom out. I got pulled over in Alabama and police made me dump it on side of the road , along with thca. Both illegal there.

. So many herbs and things like kanna, which seems to work on serotonin, as does 5htp, passion flower.

I'd rather not get into them all, and excitement, as I expiremsnted with a lot ,in the past.

At middle aged, I have some drugs that seem to work well here or there . Really not looking to get into more.. Only one is like to get and do is ghb.

Guess I won't buy any phenibut as a company is refunding me in btc. Maybe I can get a script if truly needed, as in a need to knock me out for central nervous system reset

I mean I would take a sample of kava one time but don't think I'd buy it bc I worked in the supplement industry with herbs and drugs for many years

Thank you .

Thank you . I'll more than likely look into it at some point. I saw kava is more for the sleepy feeling than using it for sleep.

I find l theanine great for sleep and the fact it reduces cortisol forty percent, so it's useful if highly stressed like a fight with gf, or any other stresses.

This appears worth exploring.

What dose seems to work best for you?
