Hi from Western North Carolina. It sure is nice to be here. I am an artist and a writer. Currently unemployed due to chronic bloody constant pain plus flareups.

Butrans 20mcg patch
No weed or booze
I came to bluelight because I have a really big problem that I have concerns about. The Butrans 20mcg 7 day patch has been a bloody nightmare.
I was on 85mg of Oxy daily for two years without issues. Some asshole doctor with a savior complex complained about me saying I was nervous acting and voila I was forced onto Butrans.
I have been in pain all of my life, I am used to pain. I have a high pain tolerance and I am one angry person right now. It's been a nightmare since being forced onto Butrans. There's a dark depression hanging over me like an Eeyorian cloud and I genuinely feel terrible. Now here I am with one last surgery ahead of me. I see the new surgeon next week. I could be free of pain by Christmas and ready to get off the pain meds. I started researching how to taper off Butrans and there's no data where someone tells us how they successfully quit Butrans. No blogs. No vids. No community. Nadas. I'm terrified and let me tell you all I do not scare easily! I love the Lord, my family, rock n roll and America, too! I am determined to cross the finish line into sobriety. I have a plan! No matter what, I am done. I won't suffer anymore. Switching to Butrans was a nail in my coffin. And I want my life back! But I abso fucking lutely refuse to suffer so fucking terribly as quitting Bupe dictates. What a fucked up drug! Patients should be warned about the detox process before beginning this drug regimen. Now here is something else. WTF is going on with our opiate receptors? Can someone please help me understand how to reset my CNS back to the original factory settings? I want my pain receptors to work properly! This very well could be the last time I will hunt for surgeons to fix my pain. I want to clear the Butrans from my body. How do I do this?
Is there anyone out there who has the knowledge and experience quitting Butrans? Who can help me reset my opioid receptors? I need to get back to being me. Can you help?
P.S. I can't taper down Butrans because of my heart. I have Takotsubo’s. Before surgery num 1 this year the anesthesiologist wanted me to go to 15mcg for three days before the surgery. I ended up missing surgery because I was in the hospital. I couldn't taper off Butrans even if I wanted to. Belbuca is the route my doctor wants to go but I am concerned about my teeth. Go figure.
