I Think My Family Has Cut Me Out Of Their Will.

I couldn’t even work, I had to drive to the library bc I “couldn’t post online” anymore which made me binge and purge get into car wrecks and steal candy at work (that one I’m just a bad seed like Willy wonka)

I wasn’t accusing him of any wrongdoings. I was simply asking what led him to this conclusion. Did a family member say/do something to suggest he’s out of the will?

sorry my BL went out yesterday exactly when I was gettin to tellin you I was just messin around and it is a valid question that we are all surely wondering

*Edit* theres a thread in the 'site technical help' or w/e from that time if you feel the need to verify --- guessin you got better things to do, but it is there.

I got told I was working homeless for being a pothead so you know

Apologies that is some bullshit over marijuana..

Damn the car wrecks, binge/purge, need to steal makes you way more of a "threat" than the marijuana ever would.

It trips me out parents still toss there kids the hell out for pot in this day and age.....Backwards shit. At this point is there any parents left who lived in a time that pot was that taboo? Gotta be pre 60's or simply closed minded AF

Unfortunately the former is probably the easier problem to solve as close minded people dont tend to learn or change awhole lot.......MAY be worth the effort though. Feels like a BS reason to me

ps I thought your sig gif was a bug on my laptop for a second, I didnt like that.... lol

Bothering them about it won't help you (not saying you would). Probably best to work with what you have and assume it's not coming.

I don't know you well, or your family, or anything like that, but personally if I were to give a large sum of money to someone who I was unsure knew how to handle it, I'd rather give it to an organization that I know knows how to handle it. So if you feel extra motivated, maybe do some personal work to get your mind and body ready for the responsibility of handling it, if it does happen to come.

It's understandable to feel hurt, but unless you have clear evidence, it's easy to assume the worst. Wills can change, and people make those decisions for many reasons. For now, focusing on your own future and not letting the uncertainty take over is probably the best approach.

I've long been removed from my grandparents will per se, they initially set me and my sister to receive equal amounts, and after years and years of me showing that I was hella irresponsible, and would likely fck off the money, they reduced the amount that I will receive, and have left it all to my sister to basically spoonfeed me. I'm still hella grateful that they're even doing that much, I'm more so disappointed in myself for allowing drugs to have that much impact on my life that I didn't care about destroying all of that. And even now, after years of being clean, having changed my life completely, they're still not interested in reversing their decision.. the amount has already been reduced, and it will still be spoonfed to me thru my older sister.

Unfortunately, sometimes we make bad decisions in life.. and some ill consequences can come from those decisions. We live and learn, right?

Pretty much anyone who gets anything from anyone for any reason whatsoever should count their blessings imo.

To inherit often appears to be the default position, but many inherit fuck all for sure

I'm sure it's difficult if our expectations are dashed, but the expectations are the issue even if we have been informed it's likely we'll inherit

Best to just be right now, easier said than done though I know

I will basically say it again, do whatever you have to get back in their good graces.

If it is a lot of money, it could be the difference between a comfortable old age, (hey I am around your age), and uncertainty and misery in an ever more greedy economy.

Try to sort it out. If at all possible, swallow your pride and at least try to get to where they will leave you some money.

I still don't know if you are talking 6 figures, 7 figures, or larger.

If this is in the 7 figure + range and includes property, stocks, cash and other assets, I would find out. Even if it is less.

Repair the relationship at almost all costs( figuratively speaking) if possible.

But seriously if we are talking about a significant amount, you are going to need as you get old.

You are alone and broke, from what I understand. This is a recipe for disaster as time goes on.

The government is greedy, everything is lower quality and costs more. Having some money, could be the difference between relative comfort and the gutter.

I still have no idea how much we are talking about.

If it is significant and you will have money to last you the rest of your life, and you live a long life, then the difference between having nothing and being able to sit in a comfortable house, have enough to eat and have money for emergencies.

This will really make a huge difference in the quality of your life.

I think it is fair to say, myself definitely included, that many on here have made poor choices, at least on some level, that we regret.

I don't mean relationships that I have screwed up, or friendships or minor legal troubles. I mean missed opportunities and job or career setbacks, ect.

However, if we are talking about serious money and health issues arise, especially when you are older,
Then this could be serious.

Everything costs too much and we are headed for financial disaster no matter whomever is in control of the government; it might be wise to have a serious plan B.

As in get your passport, if you have one, and figure out another country to live in and basically spend your years of decay, in at least some relative stability. If you were to get a decent inheritance and the economy collapses, which it will.

Even with all benefits and programs for seniors, do you think at 65 you'll be able to survive on nothing? What about 75?

Do you blieve that somehow the economy is going to get better?

Do you believe that life will be cheaper and easier in 10, 15, 20 years? I am almost willing to bet, that many who are telling you just accept it, and move on: That they have at least some assets and own property. You seem to have little. The mexicans won't sell you drugs, does not sound like you have a good retirement plan.

No wife, no friends and a bleak future, is what I have gathered from your posts. Harsh reality check. Things aren't going to get better: However that could easily change with a decent to large inheritance.

My fundamental questions were never answered, and you should at least know where you stand with them. Because if you are around 50, then they are old. Why, because honestly, bro, we are old.

But, they are probably boomers. Boomers tended to receive inheritances in many cases. Hopefully, they will pass money to you. Find out. If not see if it can be fixed.

Can you find out where you stand with them? If you are being cut out of their will and a large inheritance, and can it be fixed?

Are we talking about serious money, property, ect..?

You know your parents and if they are stoic, and if they cut you out, that is it. Or are they more pragmatic and you can you somehow fix this?

Is it worth fxing? After all you did make a thread or whatever revealing this.

The Mexicans will not sell you drugs: That does not sound like you have a good financial future in an ever increasingly expensive world. A world full of greed, from The big corporations to almost every level of government.

Also, I wouldn't count on there being much financial opportunity as you have already, like me gone into the declining years for some time.

Being young and broke is one thing; but old and poor? There is a reason that old people have the highest suicide rates. Many it maybe, depression or they are dying a painful slow death. But many, because they have no money, no relatives to help and no one.

From your posts I would say you fall into that category. Sorry, but I am being honest and realistic.

Well I can survive off nothing? Really, how? Collecting empties( I live in Michigan and well that is one way to get money). But 10 cents for returns on carbonated beverage containers, ain't gonna pay the bills.

Basically can you find out somehow? If so and they have cut you out of their will; can this be fixed?

If this can be fixed and we are talking about a significant inheritance; than you should do whatever ever is necessary to get back in there good graces.

And anyone who starts in with this money doesn't matter, is full of shit.

Old, broke, alone, and homeless is not freedom. It is misery. If you can possibly inherit some decent money and property; that is hell of a lot better than dumpster diving and living under a bridge.

Or a unabomber style shack and shitting into a bucket and looking for critters to shoot for food.

Reality check; because this could be the difference between being,ok, and begging and moving from homeless camp to camp, while eating out of garbage cans.

Because from the picture you have painted of your current life, it seems that could be your future.

Please try to see where you stand with them. See if it is true and can be fixed. If so, within reason, do what is necessary to repair your relationship with them before it is too late.

I could go on, but I have a pizza to order.
