Currently less than 40 mg in one dose seems inadequate for effect in my case.

Also considering side effects, are there concerns with long term use at this dose?

Personally, after a few months of regular use, I found that undesirable side effects such as cardiovascular effects increased, also for lower doses, while desirable effects most of the times disappeared for any doses that I could handle. So bottom line: Listen to your body (this includes checking your BP) and use common sense. Any dose high enough to give a high will probably build dopaminergic tolerance with long term use.

I take 20mg every morning of extended release and an additional 5mg in the afternoon if I'm doing something that needs my focus. I'm in college so when I have night classes or an exam in the afternoon I'll take my afternoon dose. For reference I have ADHD combined type and I only started taking stimulants 3 years ago when I was finally diagnosed with ADHD.

No I'm being prescribed it, 20 mg twice a day.

I just end up toughing out the early part of the day and dosing 40 mg in the afternoon.

However I'd only dose it every 2nd day at most.

Oh sorry man…..this was daily usage over 20 years

I started at BIPHENTIN 10mg (Methylphenidate XR) 4mg IR and remaining 6mg released 4h after

Ritalin 20mg IR tablets are for tolerant adults X 3 daily (60mg daily)

Due to the fact I’m on daily Methadone 100-125mg and have been taking Biphentin 50mg XR (which I pulverize the XR beads into fine IR powder)

As a tolerant male, 6’ tall @ 240 pounds I can safely ingest orally Ritalin (Methylphenidate) 50-70mg together with my Opioid Methadone 100mg with breakfast…..and within the hour, feel FABULOUS

How long does that last?

Based on the ED quoted, it sounds about right I'd require between 30 and 40 mg for 60% DAT occupancy.

That's when the real nice feel kicks in.

But quite "stimmed up" as well.

I've found dosing 30mg, waiting about 45 minutes and dosing another 10 mg can take the edge off that raw stimmed-up feeling, while getting positive affect.

As I'm on a not dissimilar dosing strategy, not to hammer this too much but, again I am curious about how long the effect of the FABULOUS feeling lasts?

I can absolutely relate, but it seems to peak and fade relatively quickly.

Is re-dosing that same day necessary, or is one peak sufficient to maintain positive mood for that period........ per se.

I also find upon dosing, the come up of sorts is magnificent, as being a stimulant, if low mood is caused by fatigue or exhaustion, it can dramatically reduce symptom severity.

Then a stimmed-up feeling may persist for about, 4 hours following that initial 90 minute period which is still pleasant.

Perhaps it's due to DAT occupancy being is the 60th percentile initially, then fading to the 50's and lower as the half life progresses.

From Oxycodone to Hydromorphone…..to illicit IV Heroin, to oral Methadone……Opioids are essential for real chronic pain, short acting Opioids are a god send for pain, but obviously sparingly and only as needed…..unfortunately chronic pain is a C@NT and you need a powerful oral Speedball to kick it in the ass.

Methadone 100mg & Methylphenidate 50-70mg oral ……1 hour to Blast off, with pain free euphoric comfort ….ethanol & benzodiazepines are always welcomed (slightly worrisome to the medical community) but I’d just go over their heads and purchase 50 grams of Avizafone (Pro-Diazepam) to IM administer into my shoulder muscle 80mg = Valium 40mg, or oral Diclazepam (2-Chloro Diazepam) 20 grams of Etizolam ….

Hey @JohnBoy2000 what you´ve described are pretty much the normal ranges for single doses with Methylphenidate.

Most people who have never used stimulants before would fine 20mg Methylphenidate ¨strong¨. Those with more experience might go for 30mg. I feel 40mg or more you begin to encounter peripheral nervous system side effects like tachycardia, palpitations, anxiety that can interfere with the positive, desired effects. That is the typical practice for myself and most people I know.

To balance benefit and longevity of that benefit, I would stick to 20mg Methylphenidate per dose. Then you are not going to encounter tolerance as quickly.

I had found 20 mg a perfect dose at one time.

40 mg at once now results in a little anxiety and unpleasantness as it comes on too quick all at one time.

30 mg, 30 to 40 minute break, 10 mg;

For some reason that stagger works a little better at the moment.

Less than 40 mg total at the moment though and I get that horrid unsatisfied feeling, presumably as occupancy never reaches the required 60%.

Wonder how long I can maintain that schedule though before I have to bump it up slightly, 20 mg being the later dose etc.?

Thing about Ritalin also is, unlike meth, too much doesn't produce more euphoria, just unpleasant agitation and discomfort.

Meth gets more euphoric with higher doses, provided it doesn't cross the "oh no, what have I done" threshold.

i take 54 mg methylphenidate daily as perscribed and sometimes i take 72s on top of the 54s in case i need shit done that day or just wanna go fuckin do some shit
one day i had a all nighter thing at some summer program thing (back when i was just getting into shit) and i redosed every few hours until 6 am when i stopped and took another as i was perscribed 72s at the time and i wasnt gonna explain to my dad why i shouldnt take it, that night i probably took between 216 to 360 mg during the night not counting the one i took in the morning
i might make a trip report soon here on the trip report board going over the night
if i hadnt had a big tolerance i would probably have permanent heart problems or worse
