I have recently found about 100-200 heads of poppy pods growing in a garden I have access to. The owners said they’re all me if I’d like. I’ve been trying to find pods for ages. Just scored a few to see the sap come out and cut a few of the dried one. What should I do to get the most of these. About 80% are still going strong and the others are dried and most of them are what looks like to be pushed over or just falling from lack of care possibly. Any suggestions? Don’t wanna waste and at very least harvest some seeds to grow myself! Thanks for the updates

I'd avoid trying to process them for sap or anything like that. If you're mainly interested in the plants themselves, you could collect some seeds once they're fully mature (if it's legal where you live) and enjoy growing them as ornamentals next season. Otherwise, I'd just leave them alone rather than risk wasting them or getting into legal trouble.

I miss the days of buying boxes of Giganthemums on eBay for cheap. I, however, do not miss pod tea withdrawal. Good God, man. It's up there with the worst of them, I promise you. So be weary of that. I wouldn't think 200 of them will cause too much trouble, unless he wants to do another run...
