i checked it out and wow
these people dont give a fucking shit about their bodies or their mind
while there should be communities to discuss these things but there should a bigger emphasis that you shouldnt start huffing

I'm reading that subreddit. Do you guys think it's just a LARP joke? I can't tell if they are really doing the things they say or are just trying to out exaggerate one another.

I noticed there were a lot of posts from the same 2 or 3 users but the accounts could have been fake, or just throwaway, so fuck knows if they're for real or not. All I know is that no one is gonna post on there from their main account if they have even half a brain cell left in their skull.

I scoped out the reddit forum. It seems mostly* trolls but im sure there are real huffers there.

So ive traveled A LOT. One of the more fucked up things ive seen was in Nicaragua, i saw this many times walking down the street in the morning seeing dozens of homeless people (including kids prolly 12 years old) passed out on the hard sidewalk and their faces red/dry because they had been huffing toluene all night. Theyll fill a water bottle (which prolly slowly dissolves i imagine) with a few inches of toluene, stick it under tgeir shirt and sit somewhere basically constantly breathing the fumes in.

Seriously sad shit

The toluene in Shoe Goo is why I lose like a half hour to blacked out inhalation of that shit while repairing my skate shoes, I get it tbh.

People have that inherent drive to alter consciousness, whether through bespoke chemicals intelligently designed and synthed by accomplished chemists crafting neurochemical novelty as in the headiest days of the RC scene, or whether its volatile solvents copped from a utility shed because of availability and huffed just off the main strip in a place most people never set foot, you have humans altering the way they feel for just a little bit. Sometimes it is truly miraculous, sometimes it's hard to comprehend, and sometimes it's sad and relateable.

I've done a lot of drugs over the years, some I'd not recommend to others but plenty I'd gladly share. Glad I never took too much to huffing more than a few times with duster and brake cleaner I sprayed on rag in my parents' basement. I had a moment of realization that the euphoric dissociation from it was probably not a good feeling to chase given how filthy the rag looked. I'm fortunate I had access to better drugs and enough protective factors to make sure I didn't have to rely on whatever was available during the times I would have done just about anything.
