Fake coke

Honestly I don’t think anyone can meaningfully identify it from that description alone.

“No numbness, just stimulation” could fit a lot of possibilities: caffeine, some random cathinone, another stimulant, a mixture, or even mostly inactive filler with a small amount of something active. Effects aren’t specific enough to narrow it down safely.

The most useful answer is probably: treat it as an unknown stimulant powder, not “fake coke but basically harmless.” Unknown powders can still be risky, especially if someone starts redosing because it feels weak or “not coke-like.”

BTW a few people have retrospectively tried to work out the QSAR of the various barbiturates:

Now examples in which one of the nitrogens in the ring has a methyl added are likely prodrugs and it seems they have carefully ignored examples that have a bromine atom on one of the 5 sibstituents. I was always taught that in essence the 5,5-disubstitution is more important to pharmokinetics than to actual affinity.

I'm prerry sure that with only a few really odd (RC) examples, one of those 5 substuents is either an ethyl or an allyl. The latter reducing duration but increasing potency.

That's one of the reasons further research into glutethimide could be valuable. I would be EXTREMELY surprised if swapping the 3-ethyl with a 3-allyl didn't increase activity. But then glutethimide it chiral and the two isomers are metabolised in different ways with 6-hydroxy glutethimide being MORE potent than the parent drug and is actually what coroners measured in cases of fatal ODs. Because we don't even know which is the more active isomer or indeed metaboite and which isomer(s)/metabolites(s) are responsible for it's extremly unusual CPY2D6 enhancing property.

I wasn't brought up in the US but multiple famous people have mentioned that 'fours and dors' were considered more euphoric (and far more hazardous) than heroin. I mean in various published diaries of rock stars who imbibed all seem to mention acquiring 'two really odd sleeping pills and three really odd pain killers' and stating that preferece.

Again, pure hypothesis but just how pure was the H available even to the rich and powerful in the mid-70s to early-80s?
