Misc [UK] Will the NHS (hospital) give a shit if I tell them about plugging medication (with context)

I do plug my Morphine often anyway (much higher BA).

But I have pancreatitis and sometimes the nausea/vomiting is bad enough that I can't keep anything but liquids down, including my meds. For this reason, I end up having to be in hospital (severe opioid withdrawal would happen, plus dangerous not being able to take my seizure meds etc) and be given everything IV....but they're fucking WEIRD about giving anything IV.
When this happens (before hospital) I plug my Cyclizine (nausea med, so makes sense..if I can't kkep it down orally, it CAN be taken rectally and might help the nausea enough to keep other meds down) and Morphine (because fuck withdrawal).

I never tell them I've plugged stuff in case they class it as abuse or "misuse"...but often they'll INSIST I take my Morphine orally...even though it never works as I bring it right back up...and then they refuse to give me more...even though the pills come up fully intact and within a minute or two meaning I have definitely not absorbed a single molocule of it.

Should I just ask for rectal Morphine in that case? Or even SAY that I've done it myself before and it's FINE. They don't even HAVE to have suppositories in stock. Just gimme oramorph and an oral syringe and I'll DIY that shit.

I don't think you should. There's a fair chance you'll be flagged for abuse/misuse/drug seeking.

How about you just tell them the problems you've had with vomiting up your meds sometimes when your stomachs bad and ask if there's anything else you could try at these times, like a suppository or something?

Keeps it harmless and asks a reasonable question.

I’d probably avoid mentioning DIY rectal use directly and just focus on the fact that you physically can’t keep oral meds down during flare ups. Asking about alternative routes like suppositories, dissolvable meds, or temporary IV treatment sounds a lot more reasonable from a medical standpoint.

Yeah, that was my worry.
Probably best (if I can't keep anything down orally and the refuse IV) just to ask if there's a suppository? But not mention I've any experience etc.

Or even ask what other options there are, I doubt they'll give you IV gear especially if you have history. If they try and shut you down then say something like, can you not get suppositories or something?

Reasonable question and they can't lie to to you. If they do. Well then you've got them...

As pre the advice above, tell NHS as little as possible (or nothing at all) about using medication other than the specifically prescribed ways. I will get coded and could influence and further interactions around medications.
