Out of Body Experience (Clean Version)

I have but only once was able to decide to do it and do it.

Really nothing to exciting to talk about. Usually just being in the house doing stupid things as if I was was still in my body.

For me, OBEs are synonymous with imagination. I close my eyes, think where I am, think about the things I remember that were around me, think about the things that were around them, and before I know it I'm drifting up through the roof. Then I think about what my neighborhood might look like from the air, what the Earth might look like from space, what the galaxy might look like from another galaxy, etc. An OBE where you can witness an unrelated event that actually happens, doesn't happen.

I like that viewpoint. Its creative :) I am looking more towards the spiritual angle tho and am unsure if that falls into that realm but seriously, I like this answer and it cant be discounted and maybe that is where you are coming from and I am just misinterpreting your post.

I don't understand what you mean by this " unrelated event" - unrelated to what ?

Maybe we are a/of a universal consciousness that is enraptured by the experience of human sensory excitation ?

I have had similar thoughts like this.

I want to know what it would like to be in the spiritual realm outside of my body without having to go thru that whole dying thing. Is it calmer in the spiritual realm? Is there pain? Can you see other spirits when you are out of your body and further yet, can you communicate with them? I am really curious and a firm believer of the spirit realm.

I simply meant a third person account of an actual event that took place beyond the scope of your body (i.e. your spirit saw something happen) doesn't exist anywhere outside of your own imagination.

^ There are many recorded instances where claimed events of OBE have been verified by humans in their conscious state, primarily from operating theatre staff verifying the OBE experiences of patients who were under anaesthetic yet managed to accurately depict sequences of events & converstaions that took place at the time. There are no links I can provide but I'm pretty sure if you research the subject you'll find plenty of anecdotal evidence.

^yeah i remember reading about that stuff
pretty interesting but not enough verified data or research on the subject
i do wonder about the possibility tho
if anyone has good links point them out

lately ive had weird feeling about having someone in my room
like in the movie predator when they turn invisible but you can see the outline
but that invisible someone is myself, a part of myself
and that feels pretty spooky
then it made me wonder about expression like "where is my mind" "my mind was elsewhere" "are you out of your mind" "my mind was drifting off"...
its weird, its like noticing you are 2 and a part of yourself lives outside of your brain

i use to write a lot back in the days when i was having hard issue with depression and i would talk to myself like i was 2, kinda like if my head was talking to my heart, because i felt i was missing a part of myself, and i was literally talking to it, like where are you, please come back, talk to me, i wanted that part of myself back, something i use to have before depression, but i didnt saw it as outside myself, i was just playing games with my brain

yesterday i thought about imaginary friend
ive never had one as a kid but whats up with that ? what is it about
i think im a little too old to star having a imaginary friend.....

but ive being thinking about in relation to this thread is the possibility if that stuff wasnt only in my mind, what if i could see through the eyes of that presence outside myself that happens to supposedly be a part of myself, could i go inside girls locker room ; ) could i see whats happening inside the other room and have it verified :) hehe
i think that everything is possible, just like i might win the lottery but chances are against me, pretty much impossible but then i always like to think about possibilities

i also though about old stuff i liked to think about 20 some years ago when i was all into the weird supernatural stuff
like the story of a friend who made a satanic prayer and then the crucifix on the wall fell down, and stories like that where objects starts moving on their own, which usually are associated with bad spirit, but the way i was seeing it was that it all came from the person psychic energy but on a unconscious level so the person was not in control of them and could fall victim to it

so i wonder where this is gonna go
atm ive got no reason to believe its anything more than a subjective experience with not basis on objective reality, but that doesnt make it any less interesting

long time ago i use to try to have out of body experience but i never got anywhere with it
im interested in how this thread is gonna evolve

We used to have a ghost in our house. He would do random shit. (It showed itself to me in the form of a dude). TVs would be turned on at random with the volume loud as hell. Shit would be knocked down from our stairs/walls/fridge, like one day we had tennis balls on the stairs for the dogs. Mind you we dont use these stairs for anything other than a catch-all. Anyway, my wife was on the phone talking to her grandma about the ghost when suddenly a tennis ball came rolling down from the top of the stairs down to where we were (with all our dogs) in the kitchen.

The TV thing was the most annoying tho because it would happen alot at night and it would be the one furthest away from you.

Then I read online on a few diff sites that if you let a ghost know they are unwelcome in your home, they usually go away. So, I wrote some notes (I know this sounds ridiculous if you have never experienced this) that said basically that we dont like him or his antics and that he needs to get the fux out of our house. About a few weeks after this things started to calm down and eventually ceased. Its been about 2 years now and we haven't had anything new happen. Its some weird stuff for real. But its what sealed my belief in that ghosts are real.

instances, or consistent results?

instances, or consistent results?

Atheist or Catholic? Haha jk :P

I think your "consistent results" are based on "instances." When a scientist produces the same results from an experiment, he dubs that as results. So, when different cases of people claiming to have seen things that can be confirmed by outside sources on a consistent basis, then I would say its totally plausible that a person is capable of having an OBE.

I will go out on a branch and assume you have never been anesthetized? I have been put under 4 different times for various surgeries and you don't even dream. You just go under and then your back in reality wondering why the fuck your [insert body part here] hurts so damn much. I would think that if a person did experience something and it struck them so much that they remembered it when waking up, that again, its a plausible theory.

I can say I used to share your sentiments until I had started to experience strange events here at our house. I guess its in how you perceive your world.

Typical OBE
vs
Science

Confused sensory stimulation or spiritual experience?
Those links just touch the tip of the iceberg on both arguments. You really could go either way.
I tend to trust the human experience more because some science changes constantly (particularly when dealing with the human brain), while these "typical stories" tend to follow relatively close to the same format.
