Your favorite band seen live.

I've come to terms with the fact that I will never see NMH or Jeff Mangum live. It's pretty crushing.

But yeah, I'd want to go see a Sigur Ros show on shrooms or acid or something. The kind of music they play pretty much demands it in order to fully appreciate everything.

nor will i ever see NMH..so sad....i just seem to prefer punk/high energy to shit that requires any level of cognition..the reason i go to a show is to just loose myself and feel everything in an immediate way..sigur ros is like to demanding..and boring
sam black church or sigur ros?

lemmie was not the singer then? or was he? i think they are around with a different singer? ive only heard them..but they rock!

Where'd you get the chance?

Not in the era I would have really wanted , they played Finsbury Park along with Iggy Pop back in about '97.

So in many ways with Glen on bass it was the original line up,still they rocked the place John on vocals Steve on guitar what more do you need, I'm quite a fan or the really early '76 recordings and its established fact that Sid's efforts on the bass never made any of the actual vinyl releases, they would let the poor guy play then Steve would come in later and record the actual bass track.

The Pistols led me to PIL which started a journey into industrial music that is far from over. :D

I'm gonna have to say Mogwai is my favorite live band. Although they don't do any theatrics or really even talk to the crowd at all, the way they play and watching them do it is so incredible. It never gets old for me.

I found out about them when I saw them opening for somebody. I bickered with the lead singer, but I liked their music & still do.
But that night they were dubbed Fag Island.

Am limited with what I've seen in terms of well known bands. Mainly been smaller bands in more intimate venues.

RHCP's, Foo-Fighters and QUOTSA were amazingly powerful live. Pearl Jam, The Manic Street Preachers, The Levellers, The Frames and Faithless; wonderfully memorable.

To the OP: KsE and Disturbed were pretty good shows, I must agree.

Behemoth, Septicflesh, Goatwhore, Dimmu Borgir, Melechesch, and Rotting Christ put on a damn good show too.

Septicflesh was a real standout, creating the most brutal wall of death I've ever seen (by far!). Rotting Christ was pretty sweet when the entire crowd stopped moshing, captivated by th music.

Oh yes, Slipknot plays a good show too.

also anything remotely related to marco benevento.

My friend was their sound engineer for a couple years.... he is quite the individual....

I asked him to play Paranoid ANdroid in NYC one year and he soloed for like 10 minutes.... I just love sound....

Joe Russo wouldnt talk to me, he watched "Lost" every second he got

If someone (or two) perform with a keyboard, computer sequencing, and two drum machines, each with digital delay, does that make it electronic music still?

Hatebreed torn the place apart when I saw them at the Unholy Alliance Tour (very very long ago), they were officially the best heavy band I ever saw in my entire life and I wasn't into them at all until then. All the bands I saw live after didn't compare to the aggressiveness that Hatebreed had back then, not even Slayer.
