wtf are you getting these facts from? Prescribing coke for opiate w/d's in the 1900's? I know they used to use it as a sinus remedy and for the numbing agents like benzocaine is used now and I know they sold it in a 'cocaine tablet' form, but I really doubt they were handing it out to all of those turn of the century morphine fiends cruising around in their model T's.

And I've seen a guy I worked with having real bad w/d's try to blow a whole bunch of coke to make himself better. He ended up still puking his guts out and was now just more jittery and agitated and miserable then before and had to go home early anyway.

Maybe he just did too much? IMO, cocaine mixed with benzos is a pretty close approximation to an opiate high.

this is the exact thing i said. BULLSHIT. however i did google cocaine for opiate withdrawls and i did find some sources that do say they have studies, albeit NOT 1900, that show low doses of cocaine seem to ease opiate withdrawl. i will google again and provide links.
