which is your favourite: First Person Shooter (taking nominations now!)

halo 2
bad company 2
rise of the triad (you could eat magic mushrooms and trip in it)

they have counter strike on xbox 1. i doubt you can still play it online though.

they release new fps all the time, and theres so many i think a poll would either need to be redone constantly, or wouldnt be able to contain all choices.

Ill say COD 4/Black Ops and Ive been playing the BETA of Crysis 2 lately..Once Crytek tweaks it a bit more, i think it's going to be a great FPS.

Halo 3 was a massive disappointment for me.

I'd say cod4. Although I really enjoyed Medal of Honor (2010)

yeah, i think it was the first one where you could look up and down too

Halo 3/Halo Reach.

Seriously? How did you come to this conclusion?

These are by far the 2 worse installments in the Halo series. I'd very much like to know what you find appealing about these games?

How long have you been playing Halo by the way?

Cause I've spoken with less than a half dozen persons on the phone/the forums/or via XBL that doesn't agree with the general H1>H2>HR>H3:ODST>H3 (out of literal thousands of long term Halo players ie 2002-ongoging)

The only dispute has been where to place H3, ODST, and Reach. H1 and H2 are flawless.

Edit - Not taking into account 'Halo Wars' which I never played but heard was sub par.

Personally I'd put H2 above all else. H1 was sick on lan but, as far as xbl the competition on h2 was far above the rest IMO. Don't get me wrong I played countless hours of h3 but, on h2 reaching rank 40+ actually meant that you're a bad man (minus the modders of course). I played those games religiously up until h3. I know far too many just OK players that made 45+ in h3 which is just ridiculous to me.

No clans in h3 fucking sucked too. The slowed down weapon switch in h3 rendered weapons useless. The vehicles were way overpowered in h3 too. Vehicles should be for noobs not something you have to utilize for the sake of your team.

H2 multiplayer is still the most competitive fast paced fps on consoles to date imho. H3 is great for the current consoles but, it's just not the same.

COUNTER STRIKE 1.6 takes the cake for best FPS online gameplay of all time?

I mean really, the gunplay is sooo smooth, such a strategic based game especially 5 v 5 clan based matches (good times)

I definitely had the most fun playing H2 over the 3-4 years I did, but in terms of actual quality of gameplay, H1 is better IMHO. Sure it didn't support XBL, but it did support PC online play, which I had a good year and a half or so playing.

H3 vehicles - Yes they were way overpowered, but I disagree that they were for noobs only. Being able to carry your flag/bomb/oddball holding teammate on the wing of your hornet on avalanche, while being shot at by 8 BRs took skill.

I don't like how they "dumbed down" the vehicles in Reach. They are far too fragile. I can take out a ghost by myself and a banshee with 2 other DMRs within about 5 seconds. That is just plain ridiculous.

As much as I hate armor lock, it does have a niche, and that is for destroying/disabling vehicles. Other than that, it needs to be removed from all 4v4 style gametypes.

Also that revenant thing was a poor addition to an already well established covenant vehicle arsenal. I'm even still on the fence about the falcon. An updated(not upgraded) hornet would've been better I think. I also miss the elephant with a passion. :(

Rainbow Six Original for PC

I agree that vehicles aren't all nooby depending on the gametype. Even having a good warthog driver can make all the difference in the world. In Slayer though it's a difference story. In H1/h2 I felt that vehicles were used more for transportation than offense. In h3 I feel like the vehicles were so strong on some maps that you pretty much have to use them because if you don't the other team will and your team will suffer. Even a ghost in h3 was overpowered IMO and in the right hands could totally control a section.

I guess it's just personal preference though. Personally I'd just rather not have to get the rockets, splaser or even feel like I have to get in a vehicle instead of BR and sniper or whatever. Too many Slayer matches in H3 felt like vehicle matches where as in H2 people flat out avoided vehicles because of how quick you'd get killed.

To be honest I haven't played much reach at all. Played the campaign and maybe 20 matches online.
