well got my couple of bags today - seem to be only doing a couple evry 10 days or so now, which is good - what makes it bearable is that theh gear is excellent and decent price at 20 for .4. Had a quick toot before i got homwe, oly smoked a tiny bit , maybe .1 and can feel it nicely so I know when i finish off the bag i will be floating in the arms of morpheous..thing is i can wait a couple of hours b4 he missis in tucked up without getting inpatient - as anticipation is 80% of enjoyment.Guess ive ben luck in that i have been aable to score good since b4 xmas - good job i dont have access to my wages or......

Well if you've got a "good" gear tolerance then you're unlikely to get anything in the way of a high from them at all, but they can be really fuckin useful when yer without anything. They get rid of pretty much all physical withdrawal symptoms and, personally, quite a lot of the psychological ones too such as cravings, better than DHC too - again, personally (probably due to the Morphine content).
I usually take 300mg at once (crush the tabs up and wash them down with some juice, preferably carbonated to speed up absorption) and make sure I've got a good dose of an Antihistamine in me because you will find yourself intching your skin off

Best Antihistamine would likely be Diphenhydramine (~50-75mg) because it's sedatory effects would add to the nod, but make sure you take it afterwards, just as the Codeine is kicking in, because Diphenhydramine inhibits the enzyme CYP 2D6 which is responsible for metabolising Codeine into Morphine. There's also Promethazine (again, ~50-75mg) which also has sedatory effects and would deal with any nausea experienced.
But if you don't want any extra sedation then Cetirizine (~20mg) is a good one

Morphine isn't the soul metabolite that will give the effects of Codeine (Codeine-6-Glucuronide [C6G] being the major one at around 70%) but little is known aobout C6G unfortunately (and, personally, frustratingly) which really needs to be studied!

I'd like to take a dose of C6G alone to see what it's effects are, because an equivalent dose of Morphine feels quite a bit different to Codeine (and there are other metabolites such as Norcodeine (~10%) and Hydromorphone (~1%) - relatively insignificant really but still there).

I think that was everything I had to add, and if not screw it because that was a massive rant!

Scored a couple of bags tonight of what was supposed to be a new batch of good gear. It did stop me yawning and made me warm up but I can't say it was good gear. It tasted of nothing and had a smell that reminded me of face powder. How I long for that real gear taste, I wonder if things will ever get back to normal again.

Got one earlier on tonight but my tolerance has grown so quickly that I've only got perhaps 1 smoke's worth left. It's still pretty good stuff too but my tolerance coupled with the smaller amounts of good stuff that we're getting are just making it vanish in no time

Got myself into a "just-about-nodding" state. This is the last bag I'll be able to get till next Wed too but because I've been gettin these bags I've managed to stock up my Codeine tabs nicely which is a great comfort

Any attempt to "boycott the bash" is doomed to fail, since heroin has about the most inelastic demand curve you can imagine. Junkys aren't picky. Thanks to this drought i've got my life back, no gear in almost 10 weeks and I haven't felt better.

I knew people pretty high up who told me it wont be until the next poppy harvest until things are back to normal, I said this at the start of December on the drought thread and it looks like I was right.

Well my guy's got a nice, constant supply of this good stuff at the moment so maybe it's just a matter of knowing the right people. But yer correct that it won't be back to "complete normality" until the nex harvest makes it through to us

And even then, with the growing number of addicts in Afghanistan itself (and surrounding countries), there'll be less coming over. But the sellers can make so much more money from exporting than selling on home soil that it won't make much difference at all I doubt.

I scored from N Brum tonight and it's got weaker since his last batch. 4/10 I'd say. So I went to Cannock to get better stuff. And better it is, maybe 7/10 but its £15 a frigging point, just not sustainable I'm afraid! Waiting on some 'fire' to land but aint that always the case?!

This made me laugh tho - this local guy came back on, rang me to say he's got good of both. Anyway, I ask him how good the bobs are and he says 'I dunno, I'm clean from it, aint touched the stuff since the start of the drought'. Now, I know he stopped using cos all he was getting was 100% bash about 2 weeks before Christmas. Back then I was like 'Don't u find it hard selling and not using?' and he said it was doing nowt for him whatsoever so wasn't even worth trying it (tosser told me this as I'd just scored 2 bags from him).

So now he says what he's got is good despite still not touching it! An addict selling 'gear' and not touching it! Now, I'm not saying this aint possible but he aint on a drug treatment order or nowt - all his own free will. Not a glowing reference for his stuff. Then he tells me that nobody had complained about it and one guy even said 'Yeah, it's ok, the best that's around anyway!!'. Ok.......the best that's around. I was tempted to get a bag just to see how bad it really was but didn't bother, even in the best of times he won't pay over £120 an eighth and that was when he was using so without using there's no way he'd bother spending mega bucks on half decent stuff, just max profit now. To top it off the bags are even .2 for a tenner! Not with a bargepole!

For what it's worth, I reckon things r going in the right direction but slowly and sporadically and it's so expensive that it's a game I can't play any more. I'm gonna save some pennies for some real fire at non-extortionate prices. Whenever that might be. At least the gear I've been having the last 2 weeks or so means I got enough green to last me now. Time to choose life????

I'm back on the US mainland. Back in the summer of 93 we had a local drought by the beach in San Diego- it would get you sorta well with your diminished habit but far from right. The price for a ballon holding a quadito (quarter gram) had gone up to $35.00 That fall we started getting dope that would knock your dick in the dirt (old-school US slang for good dope). I restablished a habit with the added complication of having taken up the needle and getting into speedballs (coke quality was getting decent). I went back to smoking after an almost OD and a few friends falling out but luckily not dying. I also started smoking crystal meth and was getting valium and halcion from sourced from across the border. I was working in a lab: My day would start with tar next to my bedside: I would smoke tar to settle my stomach, then smoke crystal to wake up with my valium for breakfast. This would continue through the day except I would take my last hit of tweak at 5:00 pm so I could sleep. Then finally I would smoke alot of tar, take 2 valiums (was taking 60-80 mg/day) and take a halcion and beer to get to sleep. My increasingly eratic behavior led to the loss of my job.

In retrospect, I wish I could have used the drought to stop dope- maybe smoke buds instead. This was before I discovered recovery- found that the meetings helped the craving that could last for months. So maybe this drought is a mixed blessing, but I wish you all the best of luck. I dropped my bupe from 1 mg to 0.75 mg and am feeling weak and anxious, despite my docs view to the contrary. But i got my support group- and if I was on gear- i wouldn't have had the money to take this dope ass trip on holiday I just got back from.

The key to staying clean appears to be helping other dopefiends and living a life of integrity- which isn't impossible while using, I knew users- specially older ones that lived by ethics, but there are too many scandalous dopefiends around, pressured into commiting crimes or punking people, or doing unsavory things they usually wouldn't do. Thats why I think harm reduction is such an important concept b/c it reduces harm to the individual and society as a whole.

So my advice: If you've been off dope for some time as I've heard people say, use this window of opportunity, don't squander it. Excercize and smoke cannabis if you must. Just try not to pick up.

By 2006-07' the price had dropped to $100.00/ 3 grams for fire dope (usually brown powder or really sticky tar- that was good by most standards.)

The stuff from Bath is ok if you boot it and put at least 0.2 down but as far as smoking goes I blitzed a 0.6 the other day on the foil and felt little to nothing. There is gear in it but still pretty weak. If you smoke it and look at the tooter after it has about 1cm of light tan powder that covers the whole thing, I'm thinking it's cut with Asprin and glucose and you can taste a slight sugar taste when smoking it. This is by far the worst gear I have ever had from your ends but it's still better than alot of the bags that are going round Chippenham.

The wheels are turning ppl. Slowly, but they are turning. Getting lovely food for the last 2 days. No weight but size isn't bad for the way things are here - 0.8 for €100.
It's lovely food. Proper strong taste & no mix at all. He says there's not much left but been talking to other ppl & things seem to be moving in the right direction. Word is normality will return within 2 weeks.

It's obviously still a case of gettin lucky, cos the bit I got, while being the first actual H I've got for months, was still 3/10 pre drought. But it was worth getting cos it's a new contact(which I badly needed) and I was told beforehand it wasn't great-bit of honesty a relief after all the 'rocket fuel' bollocks I've heard, even before things got fucked up.

So anyway I'm still counting the days since I had nice gear.. Now on day 64 I think!!

That's a real bummer dude, it's shite when u been getting good for ages then all of a sudden it looks like it's no more!

Cud be worse tho, look at us in Brum, patchy bits of very expensive gear. All relative tho aint it, look at the folk in Eire!!!

Do you realise how much the heroin trade is worth in the UK? Far, far too much money for it to just go down the pan like that.

The Afghans will simply find other plots of land to grow on. Afghanistan is fucking HUGE and they will always find a way to grow the poppy. And if the gear wasn't coming from there we'd find another country to source from.

There's too much money involved in the dope business for it to just disappear. Whilst there's money being made there will be gear being produced (and vice versa).
It may take another harvest for tings to get sorted but it will get sorted. We've waited this long so waiting for another harvest is nothing, well not for me anyway. I've got used to how things are, and when I do get decent gear it's even more enjoyable. Things are getting more stable now anyway (think how things were a couple of months ago) and nice gear does keep landing. Like I said, it's so much more enjoyable too

Evenin Peeps !

Just thought I'd update you on my latest score ! Chose a different guy to see tonight after a phonecall last night saying it's the best stuff he's had since the drought. The guy aint an outright liar so I thought I'd give it a go. The fact that he also lets me have a good few lines as a tester make him seem even more genuine, although to be honest once I've made the 25 mile journey, freezing and sneezing most of the way I'm not likely to say no unless it's bash.

Anyway funny thing about this stuff is it's very light in colour (almost white in fact), and in rock form. Almost like rock coke but of course with a different texture. Melts into an even dark brown. No trails on the jimmy for the first line but then they appear, getting darker and more prominent as you boot. Has a nice strong taste to it and my eyes are pinned just from the tester, but hey we all know that don't really mean jack. A few lines stopped the onset of WDs which is a good start, the drive home was a lot more comfortable.

Anyway, I'm gonna get stuck into it and then let you all know what I think ! :D

I've not been on here in a while, or not in words anyway and things were looking ok for a few weeks, by ok I mean paying big but decent stuff, that went down the pan last week and since I've been scrapping by (no script and there are 2 of us), yesterday and today have been the worst 2 days I can remember in 10 years, gutted.

Just got a bit and it is almost pure white, runs funny, tastes funny but it ain't funny cause I'm not laughing in the slightest.

Guys, can you keep on topic please. There is a thread that we use for chit chat, Heroin Social Chat v3. That way this thread only has info on the situation of the drought and can be used as a harm reduction tool. If someone is unsure whether to score they can come on here and check the situation in their area. This could stop then from getting pure bash and risk killing themselves by a lethal dose of some strange bash OR risk overdosing because they buy some strong gear and expect it to be weak and do too much. It really isn't that hard to switch between the two threads. So please can we do it.
Update: It seems the posts have been moved or deleted so thanks moderators, good work =) and guys please take this as a hint to keep this thread useful and everyone will appreciate it (most of all it'll make me ecstatic and I'll send you my fabulous heroin basket which contains pharmaceutical grade heroin)


Anyway, now for the useful part... an update on the situation on the south east coast.

I have been using IV morphine recently so haven't really bothered to score. Anyway, I've had a real desire to buy some gear for the last week or so. So I decided to try ringing a few people and see if there was anything floating about that was worth buying. After ringing a few mates I found someone in Brighton who recommended a dealer that we both know.
He warned me that it wasn't fantastic gear but it is definitely the best going around in Brighton at the minute. So I went ahead and got myself three £20 bags (0.36g each).
I decided it'd be best to do a full bag in the pin to get a nice effect. Although I'd already had some morphine a couple of hours earlier, it still gave me a nice rush and now I feel that lovely opiate warmth. I'm not nodding out but I can definitely feel it and this isn't really an indication of strength as unless it's great gear... 0.36 wouldn't make me nod anyway.
So in short, I'd rate it about 6/10, maybe 7/10. Quite happy as it smells just like it should, it cooks up as you'd expect and it runs and tastes (on foil) as all good gear does! So definitely a good result and it didn't take me too long as the guy lives just outside Brighton (so about a 30minute drive each way, instead of 45 if he lived in Brighton). Result!
