I just wanted to know if anyone else has ever experianced it like right before you fall asleep it's like half awake half asleep and it feels like you stop breathing for a second and then it feels like you have shortness of breath now in anxious but controlling it... I'm so fucking tired and want to sleep D:

And I feel sick and I need a response please.

yes i have this problem occasionally. I can sympathise with you and I'm sorry that you have to go through this as I know how fucked it is.

I told my GP about it and he told me what it's called but I forget sorry. _____ Arousal Syndrome or something similar to that (I know it had the word arousal in it). He said unfortunately there is no treatment that he knew of, but he said it was nothing to worry about, and it's not sleep apnea. However, doctors have been wrong in the past, and it might help to see a sleep specialist.

I used to get it about once every few months, then it turned into about once a fortnight, then it gradually became every night, but this was only for a brief period. After it started happening nightly, I started exercising eating fairly healthy, cut down on my my caffeine, sugar, alcohol and drug intake and it just went away. I get it VERY rarely these days. (once every 6 - 12 months)

Do you live a fairly healthy lifestyle? Do you suffer from anxiety?

My advice would be to try a healthy lifestyle, cut down on caffeine/sugar/alcohol/drugs etc and maybe try a multivitamin. If this doesn't work then perhaps try a sleep specialist? Hopefully it will just go away for you as it did for me.

Yes, this used to happen to me all the time when I smoked pot, occasionally it'll still happen but it's been a while (knock on wood).

When this started to happen all the time was when I went to the doctor, I was also having regular panic attacks. In my case the cure was almost worse than the original problem since this was the beginning of my benzo dependence.

I was basically just diagnosed with anxiety when I went to the doctor originally and prescribed xanax and ambien for the problem. Of course these helped tremendously but they're only temporary solutions.

I'm still on Klonopin and it does it's job and I rarely struggle with anxiety anymore, but I have a long road ahead of me cause I want off of this stuff, it works but I know it's not an answer.

I think you're just experiencing anxiety, but I'm not a doctor, I know how much the feeling sucks, if it's really interfering with your life go see a doctor. just my two cents.

Oh i know I've had anxiety for like 5-6 months it's like all the sudden my body almost know numb and I just feel wierd it's shitty:... And I don't I've a great healthy lifestyle I dont use drugs anymore but I drink on occasion... I need to start exercising..

i've had a lot of sleep problems from insomnia to sleep paralysis.
w/ in the past year i've been having weird shit happen when i'm on the edge of sleep. i think i'm hearing a really loud noise of some sort but there's no noise. it's like a loud brain zap and causes a lot of anxiety.
no idea what exactly causes it.

Hypnagogic hallucination. They can be visual, auditory or somatic. They occur during the transition from wakefulness to sleep and include sleep paralysis as well as that "jerking" awake which most people have at some time experienced as they're falling asleep.

Wikipedia has a pretty good article on hypnagogia and its companion state hypnopompia (which happens during the transition from sleep to wakefulness)>
