Check out this article I found.... claims this kid died of an acute psychotic episode with excited delirium due to acute LSD intoxication... Now I was always under the impression that LSD was not psychically dangerous drug WTF IS GOING ON HERE?

Cuyahoga County Coroner Dr. Frank Miller has ruled that the official cause of death for 19-year old William Parker Martin of Brecksville.

According to a Jan. 3 press release the cornor said Martin had an "acute psychotic episode with excited delirium due to acute LSD intoxication"

As a result Martin died of cardio-pulmonary arrest as police attempted to subdue him.

Police were called to a disturbance on Tollis Parkway early the morning of Aug. 16 and in the process of searching for the suspect (Martin) police found him a short time later on Scenicview Drive after he had broken through a window into an elderly couple's home.

In the home, Martin disrobed and asked to use the couple's shower. He then got into an altercation with the couple at one point pushed the elderly male through the drywall.

Martin then exited the condominium jumping through the window he crashed through to get in.

It took three officers to restrain Martin before he had the episode.

The police administered CPR until paramedics arrived and took Martin to Parma Community General Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 3:06 a.m.

The coroner also said the police who subdued Martin were not at fault in his death.

He didn't die of LSD intoxication, he died from cardio-pulmonary arrest. He probably had a weak heart, which was pushed already by an immensely terrifying experience, which was pushed too far from what sounds like some seriously straining physical activity.

Additionally, he might not have felt the serious strain on his heart as a result of the acid, but I'm just postulating here.

I think he meant "physically" seeing that the kid died of heart problems. Mr. Parker may have had previous troubles with his heart compounded by the drug and the experience he was going through which is probably what caused it.

pigs probably tazed the hell out of him and used lsd story as a cover up

^ agreed. this sounds like complete & total bullshit, & how did they detect the LSD in his system?

LSD is to cause or this death as much as someone who jumps out of the bushes and scares you is to cause you to have a heart attack.

I'll still dose.

He didn't die from LSD overdose or exposure, he died of myocardial infarction (heart attack)--probably due to arrhythmia. He was probably having a panic attack (thus a bad trip) and upon encountering the cops, his HR went so high that he had a heart attack. Considering that he died of spontaneous cardiac death at age 19, he probably had a cardiac ion channelopathy, usually undetected until someone over-strains their heart...

So, with some circuitous backasswards logic (the kind the media just love), one could say that if he had never taken LSD, he would have never had a bad trip, never panicked at the sight of the cops and never have had a heart attack: therefore he died as result of LSD. But who is to say that he wouldn't have died after any other equally straining experience? Using the same logic, one could also say that if he had never encountered the cops, he never... Therefore the cops killed him. Again, same problem.

A guess the moral is: it is sad and it certainly sucks to be that guy, but the media coverage is just typical scaremongering.

I don't see what the big deal is, I wake up every morning and throw an old man through a wall then take on three cops, and I've never had a heart attack.

Big whoop, wanna fight-about-it?=D

First off he is was a great person he was one of my best friends and we were together for two years he had no heart problems he was tasered by the police instead of them using techniques that they learn in training they taser ppl and shoot dogs if a dog barks. But when he was tased by the police that is when he had a heart attack his face turned blue from them using ygr tasers if they would have used the other techniques he would be alive today and not 6ft under he didn't deserve to die especially that way. The police that went on the call should suffer by losing their jobs for what killing him! Yes he made a horrible choice by doing drugs after we broke up but that's only bc he was a lost soul.

Yeah, yeah and women under the influence of LSD mistake their babies for chickens and cook them and students go blind from staring into the sun. It's all BS really, innit.

I've heard stories of PCP which up until recently I believed. Now I know it's probably bullshit, urban myths. I've heard the one of cooking a baby, I've also heard of someone left in a jail cell on PCP and then found scratching the wall but he was down to the knuckles cause he could feel no pain (right, like they wouldn't be checking up on someone who's on PCP) etc.
The media knows next to nothing about drugs cause the guys writing about them have blatantly never tried them.

I find this debate so funny all the time.

We find all sorts of mentions in literature of people dieing or otherwise experiencing terrible things from using drugs, but whenever we do hear a story like this in the news or whatever we immediately start filling in missing information with what we believe just HAS TO be truth.

We start stating things like "he must have had X preexisting condition and not known about it" or other things along those lines.

The truth is stating with absolution that this heart attack was definitely not caused by the LSD is just as stupidly blind as blaming it entirely on the LSD.

This is a very sad story and I feel bad for this kid no one should have to die like that in the middle of a trip being attacked by police, however I've had lots of bad trips and none of them has resulted in delusions and running out and breaking into peoples houses under the influence if I have a difficult trip I'll lay back and try to ride it out and enjoy it, not go cause trouble, if he hadn't have broken into an old ladies house while tripping maybe he would not have had to been subdued exasperating his cardiac problem, either way really sad and makes you think how things indirectly cause other things to happen.

Pretty upsetting. The incident is bad enough, and then the media pigs exacerbate things with their bullshit, just contributing to the paranoia. "spreading knowlege" my ass. I really hate stories like these. As Keith Richards said, "I've never had a problem with drugs. I've had a problem with police."

yeah ..i thought cover straight away the police kill loads of people while arresting them like prob tasered him then all sat on him..it happens all the time..its just that he was on lsd at the time...
