MEGA - Courses and Careers related to Drugs

get any job you can to save up enough money then open you own head shop, depending wat country your in the more stuff you can sell. for instance in australia i'd become a frachisie with offyatree

Well I'm trying to focus on the strengths you mention. You say you aren't strong in science, but are strong in computers and business.

Well, all three of those have quite a bit of overlap in University. All three disciplines will require critical analysis and use of mathematical formulae. You need to put your love for drugs into perspective and reconcile that interest with something marketable. Also, get ready for some hard work.

Essentially if you don't love science, you will never find a career even remotely related to drugs, unless you get an assembly line job at a drug factory checking bottle lids for defects.

edit: There are career colleges that offer "pharmacy technician" diplomas, but I'd be very careful about where you're spending your money.

I'd say get your degree in some sort of business degree, then grow and sell MJ. Assuming it's legal for you to sell. I really don't know anything other than that. Chances are, though, that you're not going to be working (legally -- or even effectively) with drugs unless you work hard at your education and in your job environment.

^They're talking about research groups, which only come around every so often, and pay you to answer questions about your drug use. It's hardly a 'career', as you don't know when you'll be eligible to take part in a study and the amount done per year varies greatly.

personally, I'd go with the open-a-headshop idea.

however if I'm going to be 100% honest with you, I'd bet that by the time you reach the point/age in your life where you're actually deciding on what life-long career to pursue, the whole "drugs are cool man!" thing probably won't even be a factor. and if it is, then you probably won't be in a position to successfully pursue a drug-related career anyway...

your interest with drugs will pass, don't worry about it for work. get some other interests.

Don't worry man, i'm also 17 and struggling with what I want to do in life career wise. I really don't know what i'm interested in (yeah, really) and it's frustrating. I also just had to move and switch high schools in december, which is a big slap in the face.

I also was considering becoming a pharmacist, it is a lot of hard work and requires a lot of dedication and study but I reccomend you put forth the effort. Put good in, get good out. Best of luck mate.

Once your 18 you can per-take in drug studies....and they pay you for it...

really ! ^ where is this lol ?

I'm a little late on this, but let's not post about the "wheres" or "hows" of this. Even if drugs are to be used legally in this type of thing, getting too specific about where to find such studies would be lumped in with sourcing.

We can talk about partaking in drug studies, but not giving links to information on finding such facilities or such.

i dont wanna shit on ur parade and sound like a dbag... but ur 17. If you have no idea what you wanna do now. You are fucked.

jk. but if you dont like sciences, fat chance on finding a career in the "drug" industry. Unless you work at a head shop. Maybe you could write an awesome novel on your experience with drug use, go on oprah and make millions?

How is finding out where to be a test subject for a new arthritis medication or something "sourcing"? The vast majority of drug testing is not for illicit drugs, but new medications or new applications for existing medications.

There's a company where I live that advertises left and right to get people to take part in their clinical trials, and they pay pretty damn well too. The latest ads on the city buses are offering about $2k for a 3 day/2 night stay and 3 outpatient visits and more for a followup.

I know someone that does this over his summer vacations and he once made something like 15k over one summer with barely any stays (although normally you do have to stay in a testing facility for a week or more at a time to make the big bucks because they need to be able to highly regulate your activities and food/drug intake).

If you're interested in that sort of thing, just google "clinical trial participation" or something similar. There are lots of companies and hospitals all around the world that do it.

^ Haha, rNr, you know as well as I do that people on this site whose interests peak on the topic of drug studies typically don't want to test out arthritis medication ;) Ya, and I can see that you want to play devil's advocate with your friend's example and all. I have no issue with that, as we want to make the rules less gray and more B&W I suppose...

For things such as what your friend is doing, well this has been lumped in with a gray subject area for staff for a while now. Really, if you are serious about that type of thing, open conversation with forum admins or the Drug Studies mods is probably your best bet. It's a case-by-case thing.

But ya, you said a good point that we often (implicity) try and suggest: If you cannot do it on BL, just freakin' use google ;)

yea dude, you are really young....that phase will most likley pass. If ur not really into the science behind it and just want to get high/have access to drugs, you are certainly not looking in the right direction...if you did become a pharmacist and were abusing ur access to things, all of ur education and money etc will get flushed down the toilet because u WILL get caught doing that kind of shit...and once you do you can never be a pharmacist again as far as i know...u got so much carefree, "party" time ahead of you...you will run into everything under the sun at some poing or another. and knowing exactly what you want to do with your life at 17 is not a reasonable thing for others to expect of you...I'm 27, have a Bachelors degree from a good university, and just within the last few years have I realized what knowing what you want to do even feels like, I almost had to accept the fact that the only thing I truly love to do is play and write music...and even though the music biz is prob the most difficult to make it in, I bust my ass day in day out, but I love it, and my band has gotten far beyond where 99.9% of bands are, and only on the up and up. Point being, the dedication came naturally once I accepted it and really went for it as a career option. I would never have forgiven myself if I never gave it all I had and took an honest shot at it. I hope that makes a little sense, but man, the years between 18 and 22/23 are the most formative in my opinion. But I love my job I'm not rich (yet...fingers crossed) but I get by and get to play the drums for a living more or less!!! ftw!!! :)

inmate?
hobo?

they are easy to get into at least.

drug studies suck. I've gotten methylphenidate and some opioids in clinical trails...bioavilability study for generic manufacture to match with brand name.

You get a bit of the med, and >9000 venipunctures every 30 minutes for 2 days until your dizzy from blood loss.
