Nothing wrong with being pale... I quite like it.

Sweet P, you look gorgeous in that photo!!

Here's me and my lorikeet, Buzz:

He's usually completely in love with my boyfriend (anyone who knows parrots, knows that they obsess over ONE person, and one person only). But since my boyfriend has been away for work I've been spending more time with Buzz so he's warming up to me.

You can see in this photo that he's still not sooooo sure about being affectionate with me.

Still, it's better than his usual routine of search, attack, destroy =D

I've got a photo like that with my galah, I'll post it when I get back on a PC. She shares her affection with both Mum and I though, she's great :)

is that some type of hybrid species? either way, incredible colours!!

& sweet P, canny beat a redhead who likes playboy ;)
are you a natural fiery passionate redhead or is it dyed? just curious :P

Haha... it's dyed, but I still have my fiery passionate moments. :)

Thanks. I need to re-dye it sometime, cos it's starting to fade. It used to be a lot more vibrant. My natural colour is a sandy blonde/brown.
 
She's actually in her mating pose there, that's why I'm smiling and why she looks so awkward lmao.

Nah man, a rainbow lorikeet is an Australian native bird :)
There are a few different species of lorikeet and mutations of certain genes, resulting in different colours within species, but they're not "hybrids" as such :)

Examples of colour-mutations in rainbow lorikeets:

And these little guys are actually scaly-breasted lorikeets, which are a bit smaller than rainbow lorikeets

*wolf whistles* look at the two gorgeous birds in that picture;)

that lorikeet is gorgeous, n3o. i've owned a few in my day and they are by far the funniest, intelligent and playful birds of the lot. we've rescued at least 4 of them which have been injured and found on our acreage and they've grown to be the best of the lot; we adopted a store bought one from my older brother and wife.

have you taught Buzz any tricks?=D
