So I've realized that my current smoking habit is a total waste. I can burn four or five bowls of top level headies and walk away feeling more or less normal. Once in awhile I will be highhh, but normally I don't feel much of anything. Over Christmas break I cut down my smoking alot and started to have the most rewarding sessions, ones that reminded me why I love weed so much (ones that reminded me how fucking strong weed highs can be). So a few specific questions, each with details...

1. Should I take a full break or just cut down on my smoking?
I smoke about a half a week when I'm being stupid, so there is alot to cut down.

A. The reason I'm not sure if I can handle a break is because the weed helps the
anxiety caused by my Vyvance script, i'm not sure I could take my meds without weed to chill me out. (or more importantly if I could get any work done on them).

B. How would I cut down? What steps should I take? All my friends blaze and I'm still gunna be chillin with them, I don't have an issue skipping a bowl but what do yall think is a reasonable amount of smoking in a day to see my tolerance take any sort of drop?

2. Is there anything anyone can think of that would increase the speed at which my tolerance decreased?

3. I've got a half z of some fire heads and a half of some nice outs, due to the lower THC count with the outdoors would switching to a lower heady died decrease my tolerance?

I know the basic answers to all these questions and am looking for chemical details of why as well as life experience, I'm no chemist but I'm also not as noobish as these questions may suggest at first glance. OH - and due to this fourms seeming hatred of prescription amphs I'm going to add in that stoppin my meds is not an option, so hold these suggestions please :)

1. Only you know the answer to whether you smoke too much. I cannot help you with that. Weed does help with anxiety but it's only short term. Weed is meant to enhance your world, not dull or block it out. If you make it a crutch you will fall.

I'm not an amphetamine hater like some of the other members. I love amps!

But you seem to think that Vyvance is causing your anxiety (you said so explicitly). You know your own body and if you really think that you are causing yourself anxiety then I hope you would at least reduce your dose age. Anxiety is your body's feed back system. You can ignore it but the health problems it will cause you won't be able to. Anxiety causes everything from bleeding ulcers to colon cancer, to heart disease. Anxiety will KILL YOU. If you cut back on weed then school will be 10 times easier and you won't miss Vyvance.

2. Excercise. Maybe eating nutritious food?

3. Not a bunch.

Weed was actually the first thing that worked for my ADHD even a bit (I was classically diagnosed with full blown ADHD by multiple neurologists, not the new age random doc writing a script based on nothing). It calms me down alot and helps with my ability to preform in school, without it I used to be unable to sit still in class for more then about ten mins, let alone pay attention. My vyvance dose is not high enough to be a problem, i just find that amphs in general create a slight constant feeling of anxiety, not like panic attack level. The weed cuts that and makes it creative and wonderful, it adds a level of euphria to the rather bland experiance of life on amphs after the magic of the first couple times is gone.

So I've realized that my current smoking habit is a total waste.

been there, it blows. you're smoking a ton all day, etc. smoking weed during these times actually seems to intensify my anxiety overall and ruin my feelings of wellbeing turning me into a nervous, lazy wreck, often leading to some depression.

the best advice i can give if your tolerance has gotten too high: stop smoking during the day time. for me, frequency of smoking seems more pivotal to pot's magic than actual volume smoked. when i begin the day smoking and don't stop, it's worthless. so cut it down to two or three times a day and just a bit even then (maybe like 0.25 - 0.4g). that'll save you some $$ too.

vyvanse always makes me anxious too. i took it for a while to breeze through work. i would smoke with it too and i know what you mean. have you tried NOT taking the vyvanse and just smoking? i had issues with adderall and anxiety as well, so idk really. i gave up on those meds a long time ago. the increase in concentration was not enough to offset the anxiety and eventual sleeplessness it caused. so maybe think about what the vyvanse is doing to your body/mind as well before worrying too much about the chron.

I feel like that is clearly the best option but because its hard to start my day off right with just the monotone vyvance feeling I will still smoke before my first class each day. Days of no class I will wait until night to smoke my first bowl and make an effort not to smoke more then 2 bowls between heads in a session. I think i'll start with 4 sessions a day and work from their, this is down from like...one big session, that lasts all day. (This z is gunna last me forever).

I'm going to try and smoke no more then one bowls of my headies a day, I feel like in the past when I only had outdoors for awhile my tolerance dropped overall, switching back got me super high, it was awesome.

My biggest problems is a number of specific social situations in my life where I need to smoke. I think I'm just going to ignore my limit the once or twice a week these come up. Oddly I'm kinda getting exited about this (well also because I'm quitting other hard drugs completely for the moment) I think it is a good idea.

I don't get anxious from smoking weed, I just use it to stop anxiety when I have to take my meds (3 days a week) the other days I blaze without my meds and I still don't get THAT high, not as high as I should from the weed I am smoking at least. I gave up on the meds through high school (hate addys and concerta) but tried vyvance because I fucked up my first semester and had to pull things together. I have a 3.8 right now...and I sleep most of the day if I'm not in class. School is a breeze and not just to pass but to do well. When I'm outta school or if my grades in grad school don't matter because I decide not to pursue a PsyD I'm done forever. For now the toll on my health and mind for three days is well worth it for me (and vyvance is not so bad). I'm in college so if I don't have class I can be asleep.
I started having this problem before the meds too, but before it was easier to take week or two off and lower my tolerance.

From my personal experience the only way to really drop your tolerance is to entireley stop for a period of time (months+), this doesn't seem like an option to you due to anxiety. This is something I haven't done for more than a week, but mates have done it for months with better results.

I had a big tolerance as well now I currently smoke much less, last rage was on Saturday night. I find that my tolerance is still there, it may be less but its still high. Can't really feel individual cones and the high is still short lived.

I'm holding onto hope because of how I felt over break. It was back to that "i can feel every single fucking hit of heads" feeling and i stil smoked everyday.

If you want to drastically reduce your tolerance stop smoking for a few weeks or even a month.

Or get a different strain or type of herb as this can sometimes work or did for me when I was smoking multiple times daily for a month.

Oh man Tikhil I'm in the same boat as you. I easily smoke a half oz a week and every day seems like one huge sesh. I often think about quitting but every time I run out of weed I can make it a few days maybe but only because my friends blaze me, then next thing I know I'm buying another bag.

Priest is right about trying a different strain too, we just got some new stuff in and while it looks like the same quality level, I'm feeling a different high than from the previous bud, which is a nice switch up.

Stop smoking for a month. I used to have a ridiculously high tolerance. Now I only smoke once a week and my tolerance has remained minimal.

All we can tell you is too cut down to get your tolerance back down. I smoke one a day after work and the buzz lasts about 8 hours! that's because the lower your tolerance the longer your buzz will last.

Even if you smoke once a day starting NOW over the next week you will definitely notice a decline in THC tolerance.

Stronger buzz, longer buzz and more money in the bank ... The balls in your court now.

dude i had a mild tolerance and i missed being really baked . . . .

so i drank green tea or jasmine tea around twice a day.
and tried to hit the gym at least twice a week .

What green teas do is cleanse the bodys fatty tissue which is where your tolerance is .

i did this green tea and gym routine for around 2 weeks .
And then i blazed again after that 2 weeks and was like WOW . It worked . It almost felt like it was the first week i started smoking weed !
It was amazing . . . . .

and im sure if i carryied on this routine for one more week it would have been like my first time ever ! .

so try this mate ,it should work

personally ,i dont think its what ur smoking, how strong the stuff is that ur smoking, who you get the stuff off,if you know how to smoke it,how ur smoking it,and im not gonna suggest ways to smoke it with better effects bla bla bla, alll im gonna say,is try smoking somewere else,ur too comfy with ur baking spot,if u switch it up,ul feel high

I smoke everywhere dude. On the walk to class, in my dorm, my friends houses/cars, the lakefront....if there are not cops I'll burn anywhere lol

I'm not trying to add an anti-anxiety med to the list of pills i pop each mourning, im not a fan of pharmies to be honest. Pot is safer then anything they would give me for anxiety, and if i cut down a bit my tolerance will not grow in the way the scrip anti-anxieties would.

My advice, atleast initially, is to take a week off. Your marks or whatever aint gonna dive from a week. Then manage yourslf from there.. if u can tak more days off, great! But truth be told, if u want to get your tolrance back and keep it, you are going to have to learn how to cope without it on a longer term basis (days off every week)...

Detoxing is good because you can baseline yourself, and see how u feel without the aid of weed, you know?

Even if u dont detox, you should introduce a healthy prspective into your life. Gym, eating healthy, eating naturally. Lots of things u can do to make your entire life better which in tern has positive effects on your body and your mind...!

Personally it sounds like weed contributes to your anxiety - hence the all day blazing. U gt tmporary relief, then as it fades it comes back.

The only thing that will work is taking a break. I need to as well. Over Christmas I didn't smoke for 2 straight weeks, after having smoked several times a day, daily, and my tolerance was like yours. Finally smoked again after 2 weeks and was getting WRECKED off one good bong rip.

Unfortunately, my tolerance is back up again. A break is in store.
