Ancient Egyptian mysticism - where to start?

id rather start my own order - if i ever get rich that is

hehe. here in my weird-ass city, there was a freemason lodge that was bassically a drug-dealing facility. pity it closed down

if you want ancient egyptian mysticism, a good place to start is reading books supposedly written by the egyptian gods themselves i.e. The Kybalion

I heard one of The Kybalion's authors was Paul Foster Case... a 20th century occultist, but not exactly a god. :\

agreed. its an amazing piece of work

but yeh...lets not give the gods back their power - there was enough baby sacrifices already IMHNTLGFGGHO

Build a time machine. Better yet, save time and read Ayn Rand on why Westerners feel the perverse need to recycle extinct dogma and ideology in search of authenticity.

From a purely historical point of view the subject holds alot of appeal but in terms of spirituality there are good reasons why Coptic Christianity erased any residual practices (that had not already been supplanted by the domination of Greco-Roman Mythology in the Ptomelaic Era).

Just got back from a trip with my good friend Lucy. Im still trying to figure out everything I just came to terms with. During the trip I kept seeing Egyptian symbolism. Here is the knowledge Ive obtained from seeing these Egyptian symbols.

Being able to read hieroglyphs is important because hieroglyphs are language. Its language through symbolism and wisdom. By being able to read the language of the ancient Egyptians we are able to crack/decipher their code, which to my highest knowledge as of right now is the all seeing eye. The all seeing eye represents the path of basic human instinct to know thyself (it also has many different paradoxes)

language is the name of the game

Language is understanding. Understanding is awareness. awareness is consciousness. An increase in conscious awareness would be to see things from a higher dimensional reality. This is the shamanic view.

The more words you know the more options you have, the more options you have the more likely you are to create, this is the expansion of novelty. Novelty is the ever perpetuating force of the cosmos which is inevitably bound to a singularity. The singularity has many different modules, but the reality of it can only be found out by trusting your own inner self and basic instinct. To seek this would be to seek truth, and truth is symbolized by the all seeing eye. The truth in which the eye seeks is the Egyptian serpent you've probably seen, or "eschaton." Which also paradoxes seeking the truth of the self. The all seeing eye sees the "now", and the "end". It is "all seeing", it IS consciousness.

Just some thoughts o.O..

the eye is also a correspondence to the milky way galaxy, in which in 2012 the sun will rise in middle of, from earth's perspective. Trippy shit.

When you see the eye do you sort of feel like the zeitgeist or something? cus I sure did!

Hmm... I am not sure what this is. Can you clarify what you mean by "Solomonic magick"?

Using the circle and triangle as written in The Lesser Keys of Solomon? You could also call it goetic magick if you were that way inclined.

Is "11" Crowley's nickname? I used to be really into his writing - he is an incredible writer and philosopher.the way he ties in arabic mysticism has influenced me forever as a writer, and in the way i see reality... his theories are just fucking sweet'

too bad he was 1/2 evil

11- 11 letters in various monikers adopted by crowley, (abrahadabra), 11 words in the Law of thelema (Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law). But yeah, K on the end of magic(k) is the eleventh letter of the english alphabet :D

i agree with High Yogi, the most we can really "break down" (or "unearth", you know what i mean) the "mysteries" of the "universe" (ok no more quotes!!!) is by breaking down language itself, since reality seems to be comprised by language (which is why unilingual English speakers are often boring, clunky and ugly, much like the language :D))

yeh he said the exact same thing, but he was riffing off like 1000 writers/philosophers/scientists who came before him

everyone knows that language makes reality

i used to be "right into" occultism/black magic, but eventually i got tired of it after learning what i needed to know...ceremonial magic is a bunch of pretentious morons in robes pretending to be special...what a barf-inducing bunch of BS

Terence Mckenna did say that the Shamans are/would be outcasts of society. Try not to judge everyone based on appearance. But I do have to admit there are a lot of lamo posers out there.

The ceremony is bullshit; the actual results are not. The ceremonies are an archaic means to stop people practising magick. They are not needed at all. Check out the author Lon DuQuette and Israel Regardies Golden Dawn book; both sought to demistify magick (and copped sht from those who wanted it hidden). Magck is just desire..
