STYLE WARZ what clobber are you after?

I can't imagine you would notice much difference between a £300 suit, a £700 suit or even a £1400 suit...am I wrong?

I mean what extras does a £1400 suit come with that a £300 one doesn't?

There's probably a bigger difference between a £100 polyester suit and a £300 wool one than there is a £300 to £1000 unless its bespoke.

And what use do you have for a £700 suit may I ask?

I only wear a suit to work when i'm meeting clients.

rocking it to the pub & tryna look like a pimp while really looking like a tit

Hahah, i've only worn a suit on a night out when i've been going to very decent restaurants followed by flash bars.

The difference between a £500-£700 suit and a £300 suit is massive. For a start, the more expensive suit will fit better. Whilst it won't be bespoke, it isn't straight off the peg. So the trousers will be tailored to the exact length and the waist will also be slightly modified to make sure it's a perfect fit. The jacket arms will also be tailored to correct length, as will the bit accross your chest/stomach. With a £300 off the peg job from Burtons, you just have to hope that you have a waist and leg size that fits.

Next major difference is the thread. The more expensive the suit, the finer the thread of the wool. I've had 2 identical Boss suits in my hand before, with one being an extra £700 just because of a higher grade wool. (I bought the cheaper one!). Having expensive material really does make a difference to comfort, but I personally think £500-£700 suits have decent enough comfort for me. Having said that, my Zegna suit that should have been £1,400 is a lot more comfier than some of my "cheaper" ones.

Finally, with expensive suits you just get better designs that generally fit and look better. Boateng makes somes brilliant suits which just seem to standout as looking great, and are perfect for weddings.

Still, they are a daft amount of money and i haven't bought a new one for about 2 years. I've currently got a Zegna, Boss and a Boateng which I generally rotate to keep them fresh. Plus I usually only wear a suit for about 2 days a month. Bad thing about expensive suits is they wear out virtually just as quickly as cheap ones...............

This morning I remembered I wanted this, bad times:

That's the problem. Someone in my office spent £600 on an Armani suit and wore it to the field, big mistake.

I'll loan you the cash. ;)

Let's all chip in I'm positive it'll be worth it. :D

Only on the condition she posts pics of her wearing it, obviously. ;)

You can get a suit from Slaters for under £300 and have it tailored to fit.

Which is why they are a waste of money surely?

I'm sure a £700+ suit will pay for itself if you only wear it occasionally to meet clients.
