New Jersey state police said they made a larger seizure of the drug known as "businessman's LSD."

State Police Superintendent Rick Fuentes said the hallucinogenic drug, known by scientists as "dimethyltryptamine," or DMT, is becoming increasingly popular in the regional club scene.,000.

Troopers seized about 1.4 pounds of DMT from a 33-year-old software engineer named Yusuf Samantar during a Saturday morning traffic stop on the New Jersey Turnpike after the Newark resident was seen driving erratically.

Police said the bust represents the first dealer-sized quantity of DMT seized in New Jersey.

DMT is typically sold for about $200 a gram, giving the seizure a street value of about $127,000.

I wonder what was the cause of his erratic driving was... Knowing that he was carrying such a quantity of DMT in his car you'd think he'd take special precautions, unless he was high.

this guy was taking his chances.
 
I wonder if it was 1.4lbs of DMT, or 1.4lbs of mimosa hostilis rootbark powder which the accused may have told the cop was a DMT-containing plant?

if that is accurate I would say somehow this guy really did manage to get that much crystal in one place... impressive... lol how? why? wtf would you do with all that
 
He was an engineer, I'm sure he could easily figure it out.

Very interesting story that must be the largest ever seized in the US, I'd bet.
 
i would drive erratically too if i had that much DMT.

Hahahahahhahaha, Newark. LOL , the home of dope and crack and water n piff, and the dude with a pound of DMT is from newark. thas the last place id espect that drug to be coming from. Wow. i dont do that shit so i aint really sad to hear about it either way but thats some shit right there.

something like 30-50mg. it's usually much cheaper (something like a quarter of that) since acquiring dmt is usually a diy procedure. so you either get it from a friend who makes some or make some yourself.

Thats a bummer a lot of minds could of been opened up. At least there wont need to be any cleanup of people whos minds opened so much that their brains spilled all over the floor.

yea man id have loved to grab a lil of that. the police always overhype the price to make themselves think they have bigger balls than they do. at my school if the cops busted a kid with a vicodin theyd prolly make it a huge deal and be like yea we jsut had a narctotic bust.
