Ten seconds to go, up by one, a chance to put his team up by three . . .
. . . and LeBron bricks his FOURTH free throw (out of six attempts) of the fourth quarter of a crucial play-off game.
Has Kobe *EVER* done that?
Cut to the Cavs huddle during the ensuing time-out, and guess what?
"Bron Bron" is biting his nails again.
Magic, Larry, Isiah, MJ, Kobe and every other superstar guard/small forward RELISHES the end of close play-off games - it's where they elevate themselves and show why they're the all-time greats.
Not only has Lebron NOT shown the killer instinct that every player listed in the above paragraph regularly showed/shows in clutch situations, but from "Bron Bron's" body language in end-of-game huddles, he doesn't seem like he even wants to be there.
The talent is clearly there.
The confidence, killer instinct and clutchness, however, are, so far, severely lacking.
I'm not saying LeBron won't EVENTUALLY become an all-time great . . .
. . . but until he gets that "Everyone in the building knows I'm about to shoot the game-winning shot - they're going to put their best defensive player on me, and will likely even double-team me . . . and I still CAN'T WAIT to win yet another important game at the buzzer by draining this shot in my man's face" clutchness about him, he's just a better version of Tracy McGrady.
