Coming off Invega/Xeplion (paliperidone) injections v 12

You can get psychotic from it and end up on more injections, oh sorry didnt knew that protecting your from permament brain damage is cringe
this here is good advice, not saying cocaine is from satan. legally where i live you cannot be forcefully injected and if they try, they have to talk to your family and my family no longer trusts injections

@Trueart2 does it count as getting high if I feel exacerbated symptoms of invega on top of the high? Like I feel high but I also have akathesia

Yesterday and today I was able to feel nicotine shortly after waking up, but it was like a one-time occurrence. Nothing after that.

The same thing happened before I fully couldn't feel it, so I hope this is a sign that things are heading in the right direction. Not expecting any major improvement for another 3-4 months, though I do feel like I'm recovering a bit each day.

Thank you for sharing this. It's really valuable to hear from someone who has actually experienced it firsthand. I was hoping someone would say this. I've read that it's similar to how in a dark room, the pupils dilate to capture more light. When you suddenly remove the 'blockade' (the medication), the freed and hypersensitive receptors can sometimes cause an intense, even excessive reaction. That's why some people may experience a temporary intensification of symptoms — and it's not a breakdown, but a readjustment. Did this intensity last long for you?
The intensity lasted a few months before I went back into psychosis and got put back on medications which cause anhedonia.

If I didn't become mentally ill again, i'm not sure how long it would have lasted, but I reckon it takes a long time for the brain to readjust to that much receptor upregulation.

After both my antipsychotic recoveries, I experienced the intensity of major dopamine upregulation.

Does not happen to everyone, but this is how my brain seems to react to antipsychotics.

I've heard from some people that after Invega their sensations and emotions—including restlessness—actually became more intense than before over time. That doesn't happen to everyone, but there may be an explanation for it. It's thought to be related to the brain's compensatory mechanisms after it has been suppressed for such a long time by a long-acting antipsychotic. From what I've read, this usually settles down with time
My axiety, attention deficit, depression is far worse after invega. I also tend to get triggered more easily now.

Hi guys not typed in this chat for a while but I’ll be joining you all on this journey of healing now as I’ve got my last injection tomorrow and they’ve decided to end my CTO after only 4 months🥳, this made my day anyway I know you’re all not in a good spot but it feels good knowing you’re all here dealing with the same as me! Keep fighting guys

I'm sleeping without any psychiatric medications now, and I usually get around eight hours of sleep. When I first got out of the hospital, my sleep was constantly interrupted by endless awakenings throughout the night. Now I sleep through the night without waking up, although I still don't feel that familiar sense of tiredness before bed that I used to have. I really miss that feeling. My appetite only started coming back recently. I can finally feel hunger again, but I still don't feel full after a proper lunch or dinner. On top of that, I lost my sense of smell and taste. At first, food tasted incredibly bland. It's a little better now, but it's still nowhere near what it used to be. I spend most of my day watching YouTube, listening to music or audiobooks. I still find it difficult to read on my own because my concentration isn't good enough yet. The same goes for motivation. I literally have to force myself to do stretching and a short workout in the morning. Sometimes I go for walks with friends. I'm still waiting for my emotions to come back. I really want to go back to work, and I'm also planning to apply to university. If I continue improving, I'll probably sign up for swimming and join a gym this month or next. I'm tired of this stagnation. Everything is changing so slowly. The waiting is killing me..

I think it's possible that you'll be able to sleep without medication again. It might just be a matter of talking to your doctor about gradually tapering them. Your brain still remembers how to sleep without medication—it was just thrown into a kind of toxic shock by the Invega dose. By the way, how long have you been taking antipsychotics?
P.S. Sorry if my message sounds a little awkward. English isn't my native language
I miss that familiar sense of tiredness before bed too, and that similar feeling of tiredness when you first wake up is gone too unfortunately, like you've drunk 10 cups of coffee. In the past if I woke up too early I would easily dose off to sleep again, but can't do that anymore with the effects of invega

I've got a question for you guys: so I've been forced under a CTO to take the invega injections since the end of November, and just had my 9th injection last week. I've got one more injection left at the end of July, should I try and ask my doctor to change to Abilify (aripiprazole) for the month of August instead of getting this final invega injection for the last time, or should I just bite the bullet and go ahead with the invega shot?

Abilify wont be any better to be honest besides the growing breasts risk. That one terrifies me because the eyes stuck looking upward and whole body spasms, I was traumatized of them after that, scary as fuck, especially when you didn't realize what was happening. Sat in there for while before those dumbasses realized what was going on and I needed Ativan and a Benadryl shot. Had this one NP for psychiatry screaming bloody murder like I was dying which didn't make situation better.

Btw I'm really envious of you guys who only had 2, 3, or 4 shots, as it's a lot easier to recover the less you have, and I remember at that stage I hadn't completely lost my personality yet. Now, after 9 shots, it feels like I'm a totally different person and can't recognise who I've turned into. I used to have a vibrant personality, was really friendly and would easily talk to strangers and befriend them, but I feel there's something in me that makes me such an introvert now. It's so weird. Has anyone else on this forum had as many as 9 doses, or close, like 6, 7, or 8? Does it feel like you've lost your sould and who you really were/are? I'd like to hear your experiences...

I had about 9 or 11 shots of abilify and 3 years of invega the pill 6 and 9 mgs Invega. Yeah it turned me into a potted plant that didn't care about anything, I was kinda glad I got diagnosed with cancer at the time hoping it was terminal. Only thing that keeped me going on Invega was the stimulants they gave me.
