That's how time is different from in the 20th century.
it really is... i grew up in a world still largely shaped by 20th century norms and 20th century people...
now it feels like the 20th century is disappearing as tech accelerates the pace of life ... only now is it really hitting that 1999 wasn't just 20+ years ago, it was a different century altogether.

Decided to watch the 2020 version of The Stand.
Attempted to watch it when it initially aired but gave up after a few episodes as I HATED the non-linear approach. Still do, actually. I much prefer the first act of the novel [the virus part] and it ruins it breaking it all up into random flashback scenes.
It actually took until my fourth attempt to the whole novel as after that part [the first like 400-500 pages] were just gets HUNDREDS of pages of characters walking and very, very little else.

See, this is why Disney fucked up an already fucked up triology.( the prequels were great compared to the Disney crap. They sucked. I may own 1-9 but 4-6 are the only ones worth watching.( countless times) Screw up Star Trek all you want.Andor
