He is my best friend - my brother in many ways. We were heroin addicts together back in the 00s and got clean a few years apart from one another. I lived on his couch when I was homeless and had no one left to turn to because I was a junkie and had burned all of my bridges.

He's got everything from .45 1911s, 9mm, m1 garand, ar15 - I'm not sure what he uses for marksmanship but I'll ask

I just got them last week - I'm actually talking about going to the gun range with my buddy as they have a place with targets that I can use so I can start to try them out. I live in an aparmtent and don't have a ton of space use use them here, but I figured I'd rather have them and figure out how/where to use them for practice.

You're going to laugh but - I got inspired because in Cyberpunk 2077 (video game) I've taken to using thrown knives as a weapon and I like the idea of stealth and accuracy. I also like throwind darts and have done that quite a bit for fun over the years and I feel like it kind of draws from the same source.

I kind of lost interest when I became disillusioned by throwing stars. Even the very good ones, seemed like even if they were thrown by a an expert they would not be useful, in a bad situation( I seriously mean as a last resort, I really hate violence, and would rather avoid trouble and if I could). Not a coward at all but no reason to cause or be apart of trouble. Too old, my personal beliefs and behavior. Got a warning for going 71 in a 45 mph zone. My registration was no in the messy glove box but I found it In there and drove to police station and showed and a police officer signed it. Walked over the court and gave to a woman. Maybe 50 cents in gas. Thank you ALMIGHTY GOD. That could have been expensive and raised my insurance. But being polite, respectful and courteous helped because that's the way I am in real life.
26 miles an hour over the 45 mile an hour limit and a Warning an after I showed my registration nothing.

To me throwing stars only seemed to be a viable in form of self defensive; or if you were one of the evil ninjas; as an offensive weapon if you were in a chessy low budget 1980's movie. I have never heard of them being used IRL; ever with results either way.

Avenging their deaths by blowing up a Federal building and168 dead. Wrong but it happened.

Anyways, those things that triggered it were nothing compared to the scary stuff George W. Bush did after 911.

I don't go down those rabbit holes because I don't like to be influenced into perspectives. I trust my judgement, education, and guidance, and I try to avoid people who want to point me to the truth. The truth is out there, and it's in here too.

There is a plot to destroy nation boundaries and have a one world government and if that happens then a blood bath in America. At the end of the day, I just have to wake up and live my life as best I can - I can't fix the world and I just have to know how to adapt and operate within a complex social system that has layers upon layers of nuance, trauma, pain, exploitation, and innovation. I believe in the value of common unity around shared goals as a method of guidance through troubling times.

Not gonna laugh we all get inspirations from somewhere. I can probably legally shoot my crossbow in my back yard and I can shoot my good hunting pellet gun( I don't hunt, and that breakaction pellet gun is supposedly 60% more quiet than before, it is as loud or louder than a 22Lr) I do hunt but indoors and for mice with a pellet gun and traps and a raccoon I took.
It can be scary firing real guns indoors. It is actually legal where I am as long as no injuries or deaths( accept for nuisance animals, heh heh)

I have never done heroin and never would and am curious how different from a large dose of Oxycodone it is?

I am actually breaking my 18 month plus sobriety with a $30-40 bottle of red wine. If I drink slowly and only once in a year or two; and it is something I don't like.
Like lovely vintage( meaning is has a 2014 bottling date and not a month and best if chugged by date) red wine. Also no, drink cold instructions like on Mad Dog 20/20. The strawberry banana besides being as wuss flavor is the worst, but over 3 decades ago in high school I think.

The 45acp's nice, ar-15 oh yeah I know them well. They also work very nice in a pistol configuration. Numerous calibers and it's big brother the Ar-10 platrom for rifles and even nasty hand guns( not as scary as BB, but scary becuse of heavier calibers than an ar-15).

The WW2 one which are common but expensive. I remember in the early and mid 80's seeing them, British enfields, german mausers and lesser licensed mauser, and other guns dirt cheap at Woolworth. Some today worth a few grand now or more easy. Army surplus. There are more guns than people; don' know our care usually gun enthusiasts have many and there are a lot of them and people who just want protection.


But the springfield amory guns are basically a .308( 7.62x 51nato are vertually the same.)( not as different from a .223 and 5.56x45 nato round.) You can fire a .223 from a standard Ar-15 which is 5.56x 45 nato, with some accuracy loss: but not vice versa.

I am thinking of getting throwing knives. Good ones. Just as I hate cheap( not so much the price but guality) of guns.

You will probably need a range with archery target lanes. Because of the high shelves on gun range lanes.
You would have to stand back several feet and risk hitting thr lane platform and possibly below.
Better yet if there is an archery store that has open target lanes. But can call and ask. They may say only if you bring a 1/2 or 3/4 inch ply wood target. Saw and home depot or lowes or any place with lumber or plywood.

Can you use them at a park? Where I live a local park has skeet shooting. I think you have to bring your own clay pigeon tosser or what ever. But if you can shoot shotguns, then. Also if you got a piece of thick ply wood ond a plaint pen.( hobby shop or arts and cratfs store) and used a barrel lid ( or some thing big and round then an old lp record and so on; to trace a target or get paper targets and use a very heavey duty construction type stape gun. The ones with thick staples. Or good tape.

Check if your in a blue state, although mine is not liberal, but really is a swing state and is good about guns and carry permits.

Elon is causing a lot of problems with his actions - I have a number of close friends whose livelihoods have unexpectedly been put in jeopardy because of the shit he's pulling, I have a father who's worried about social security payments becoming in jeopardy and who is still working but worried about what's going to happen to the auto industry (he's an automative inspector) with all of the changes - all because Elon's got some flight of fancy and is trying to own libs or some dumb shit. He's doing nothing good for anyone and he's actively causing harm to many many more.

Massachusetts - I'd probably be careful using them anywhere other than private property or at a designated spot for them. As long as I am not bothering anyone, I"m sure I could set up an area to practice anywhere, but I'd need to look at the laws to see if anything were an issue. I don't know honestly?

A ponzi scheme requires payouts that are taken from the fund instead of dispersed to those who pay into it - Social Security is not that and never has been.

Elon and Joe Rogan, the people who are making this claim, are assuming you have no idea how social security works, or what a ponzi scheme actually is/how one functions, and instead know that A) ponzi schemes are bad and B) will trust them because you like them (charismatic leadership)

We have good schools, great public lands, parks, and recreation, 4 seasons, no cataclysmic weather, good drinking water, no bugs or animals that will kills you, no major vectors for disease, multicultural diversity, great food, academic access, industry, wealth, and history... They make real bad fires that take days to put out and cause groundwater pollution and so on, while needing firetrucks to monitor them for those days, which means they can't respond elsewhere to save lives. It's not like blowing up a gasoline car in Goodfellas that you can just clean up in a few hours
