He will definitely steal the credit for the good economy, no doubt about that. He will also boast about the low crime rates and fewer illegal border crossings. Both trends are well established.

I hope you're right about him scrapping the tariff idea. Economists of all persuasions agree that huge across-the-board tariffs would be horrible. You think inflation was bad before? Ha!
 
I've heard this theory about Trump's outrageous picks for various positions, and I tend to agree:

It's not about whether they actually get approved. It's just a loyalty test for Senate Republicans.
So if you're a conservative lawmaker who objects to the head of the Dept of Justice being a man who brags about enjoying drugs&sex with underage girls, you are now on Trump's naughty list-- you are part of "the enemy within."

I had overlooked your post when I wrote the similar comment above. Yes, I think that's exactly what he's doing.

In Trump's first Presidency he had qualified people around him who prevented the worst of his intentions. Now he wants sycophants and will demand absolute loyalty-- including in the House & Senate. Any Republican who doesn't submit to his aims & whims completely will be on his shit list.

As a sociopathic narcissist, Trump must have absolute authority.

(edit) PS-- It seems to me that a demand for 100% loyalty to one man is at least sorta fascist-adjacent. Or is the term fa-curious?

I have come to the realization that some Trumpers are just bad human beings (not all) and not worth any positive energy on my part.
I must admit I will likely call a couple "gynophobic, Brown Shirts with HOCD who have a homoerotic fixation on Trump".
(HOCD - Homosexual Obsessive Compulsive Disorder - a hate of homosexual people rooted in a fear of being homosexual)

Again, not all. But my relative silence is due to me sorting this out. They're not all evil and irredeemable, but some are and I have to realize that and determine my response.

That pesky ass fire in the belly couldn't go out if I tried. I have.

While I was passing out lit at the polls and chanting "Hooray for our side". There was one guy who showed up every day and screamed stuff at the dems like "Hey, you bald, black, girl, are you done transitioning?" to a bald, black, male friend of mine. To a dem lawyer running for judge, "Hey Mr. xxxx, are you gonna be a good judge, ya gonna be a good jew?" To voters, "Hey, pull your pants down, I wanna see if you are transitioning."

He was a paper tiger and could be ignored. Slip in yelling a, "Make America sane again." when he took a breath.

Another guy, however, would chase women away from stations where they were passing out lit and stand there screaming "If you want your sons dick to be cut off, vote Democrat. If you want your daughters tits to get cut off, vote Democrat." at voters in cars going by. He also went down to the designated area at the polls and stood next to dem ladies screaming his shit to intimidate them.

Yet another guy would stalk around at the corners with a Trump flag banging dem women and little old men passing out lit in the head with it as he walked by.

These vile people necessitated myself and another guy making sure we stood next to the victims. I'm 69 and was double teamed once to where it was a bit touch and go.

Anyone targeting women like that is a vile human being. Sorry.

It's never been like this at the polls. But, hey, no AR-15's I guess.

not just that, but like obama said... (to paraphrase poorly) the government is more like a big ole cruise ship than a little quick speedboat.

many of the ramifications will be felt for years, maybe even decades (who knows?)

it's how the repubs always trick ppl like my buddies at work into voting for them: give them temporary tax breaks, and 'starve the beast' ie break the government and then blame the democrat once the red team is no longer in power.
