"Federal"? Well there's no State armies… Also to be clear, the last time a U.S. officer held the rank of 5-star general was during World War II and the early post-war period. If a revolution/rebellion took off and the schism found its way to the military somehow, which is not impossible given the events of Jan 6th, 2021 and how much it smacked of having inside operatives, a civil war would not be impossible. So if a powerful enough faction broke off and was able to attack certain military targets from the remaining union, it's not at all impossible to see it happen in our lifetimes, though I would still consider it unlikely. Just not impossible.

Yeah but he's the presumed GOP nominee and a former U.S. president. It isn't like he's some nobody or washed up has been in politics. We all know there's a pretty decent chance he'll be the next U.S. President again… Surviving this assassination attempt certainly shouldn't hurt his chances…

Where human beings are involved, the possibility of someone fucking up is very high. There needs to be at least 2 people observing the crowds and any potential sniper positions, as well as the defensive snipers in key strategic locations.

These situations should never be relying on just one person to observe everything and do the sniping. I can't imagine that was the case.

Yeah I think it was a AR-15 rifle, chambered in .223 Remington, 55-grain bullet. And a better choice would've been not attempting to assassinate anyone. But I agree that a heavier bullet in a calibrated rifle would've been less prone to wind deflection.

It wasn't. They neutralized the shooter rapidly and I doubt he was perched up there for very long at all. That sucks for the poor bastards who caught those stray bullets that missed Trump.

Yeah, we definitely don't want him martyred. Unfortunately, I think the shooting will probably ensure he wins the election. I really worry for America 'cause ya'll are gonna have a president that is either losing his faculties or is a literal sociopath.

Today, say, "Hey, did you hear Trump got shot?", watching the reaction closely, making note of the first question(s).

Trump reinstated with the new 'freedoms' granted to the president in the recent court hearings (can do whatever he likes, immune to all law basically) sounds like a nightmare for the whole world let alone USA

You couldn' make it up really. And the photo of the fist-pumping bleeding Trump set against the flag could not be 'better' elecioneering propaganda if it had been staged (which i'm not saying it was, but something stinks here somehow)

every now and then we have terrorism or whatever in Finland, right is calling it islamic terrorism without any evidence or reports, and every now and then, it is found to be some far right lunatic. It happened also recently in BL when the old white guy who probably got some medical emergency, bashed to the border control with car.

There is a video that disputes that he was actually a republican even though he registered as one. In that video one can clearly hear him say that he hates Republicans and hates Donald Trump.
