The government is just the largest gang in a given area so it shouldn't come as a surprise that essentially all of them are involved in terrorism at least indirectly. You guys know who Manuel Noriega was? Panamanian de facto leader (basically a US puppet warlord for most of his leadership) who the US supported during wars between socialists and contras in South America. We paid him to assassinate Nicaraguas socialist leader (and a million other favors), and in turn we ignored his (our) crimes and drug smuggling, until that conflict was over and we couldn't use him any longer that is, when we invaded Panama and killed him. Governments are just groups of oppressive people large enough to brainwash others that they're not being oppressed but rather saved, and you cannot equate the government to the people. North Korea, Syria, China, Russia all have shitty governments, does that mean we should let them all be killed?

Hasn't Israel offered dozens of truce/hostage exchanges? Hamas always declined, because the main stipulation was releasing all their prisoners immediately, and that is the only skin Hamas has left in the game.

I could be wrong, but that's what I've noticed.

What ever happened to those cold war era exchanges? The Soviets on one side of a bridge releasing an American spy and The Americans on the other side releasing one Soviet spy.
Seriously this shit happened, I would say ask Francis Gary Powers but he had even worse luck with a helicopter than the U2 spy plane he was flying that got shot down.
