Project 2025: Trump's plan for authoritarian takeover

kind of a silly question honestly since it says he's from Texas just below his name. Naturally, I mean only southerners really seem to like Trump while also having no clue what they or he is ever talking about. I have this problem with my relatives in the midwest who vote republican. We know they hate Trump, but they're too proud of republicans to vote otherwise. No one in their right mind who isn't from the US would vote for this orange fuckface oompa loompa lookin ass.

But hey, he's almost 78, the average lifespan of an adult male, and if you're taller you're more likely to die young since your heart pumps more blood. His fatass sure probably has a bad heart from his diet and I'm pretty sure someone or other said he was often taking Adderall. I have faith he'll just drop dead before November lol. I would say something more out there but I don't want the FBI at my door. I'm not that worried he'll be re-elected. Voted Biden in the primaries today.
Actually, it doesn't say Texas below his name.

Have you considered testosterone therapy?

People have been saying variations of this since 2016 at least…like, oh don’t worry about orange man, he lives on a diet of Big Macs & psychostimulants, he won’t be long for this world, any day now he’ll keel over…meanwhile he sticks around & lingers like an annoyingly persistent STI on our body politic

With our luck he’ll probably live to be 103 years old

Oh I think someone out there will be a hero. I have faith. Otherwise I will personally see to it that he doesn't get there lol

Why more people aren't disgusted by this is beyond me

Thanks for posting this by the way.

Did you bump into this yet?

I think it's kind of interesting. Is Trump turning over a new leaf and firing corrupt people?
I don't plan to hold my breath. I'd like to predict that he will get back into office. And once he gets in, he will do precisely nothing. ....but I've been wrong about the guy before. Anyone have a different take on this?

Why more people aren't disgusted by this is beyond me. Trump has been openly talking about this, and thousands of his followers are already planning it out. It's no secret, they are publicly documenting it and they're very serious.

"It is not enough for conservatives to win elections."

The plan openly describes how Trump wants to give the executive branch ultimate authority, how he will replace every single federal employee with his own, wielding the DOJ to prosecute all of his political opponents, and unleash the military on anyone who protests his actions.

This is absurdly anti constitutional, anti democratic, and evil. This is fascism.
Left, right they all are part of the globalist plan for a one world government. Kissinger said " we cannot have a strong America for a NWO". Many others like Bush have mentioned the chance at a NWO with the U.N. and their founders. The founders of the U.N. is the Rockefellers among others. The only President who talked about this evil in detail was JFK and look what happened to him for going off script. This is a war between good and evil. The devil has his army of people and than there are the Christians who want to live a normal life without the issues we see today. Even non Christians want good for their families and see the game both side of the isle play on the people. Sure when Trump was in office gas and t-bone steaks were cheap. But he did fast track the jab, 5G and handed the keys over to FEMA for the plandemic. Obama was the worst in my opinion and I think he still runs the Country for Biden underground. But behind these people there are a group called the Bilderbergs who run the world with the Jesuits of Rome and others. I'll digress on that.
At this point in time, the End times for America as we know it, either I'd move out of the Country you can or get ready for the things to come. Even the globalist built huge bunkers to live in.
It's time this Country turns back to the God of the Bible not in the corrupt churches but through Christ himself and the Word of God. Maybe than we'll have a change but I think it's too late for the USA.

He serves himself, and if people enjoy when he does fascist things, he'd do it for fun.

Trump really doesn't care about anything other than his own ego and self interest.

While I will agree he is more narcisistic and self absorbed than your average human being, by a lot, I have to disagree with the second half. Is it in his self interest and ego stroking to come back and run again after four years of opposition by the left and the media (one in the same), knowing they'll bring even more heat in a 2024 election run - now including multiple indictments across several states? Is any of this shit doing anything for him? There is the unintended support it is generating for him with the general public, but on the other hand he could have said 'F this crap' and gone back into busines, into media, whatever would actually make him money and likely without the harassment he is enduring from the left. So while I will not argue his ego drives much of what he says and does...would ANY American citizen sign up for the crap he's beign put thru if they didn't believe in what they were doing, and that it was for the best interest of the nation?

I'll step back and acknowledge, there is a wide spectrum of ideas of what is 'best for the nation'. Both parties have their ideals, and the public is a huge gray sea between those polar ideals, but both sides equally believe THEIR ideals are the right ones.

who's the only president in recent memory who's called for a suspension of the u.s. constitution?

who's the only president in recent memory who's called for the removal of guns from u.s. citizens?

There are words, and there are actions. Tell me, who said they would forgive student debt and acknowledged they don't have the power (Pelosi echoed POTUS doesn't have the authority) during the same statement...then did it anyways. It was slapped down by SCOTUS, and Biden's team does it again. Who is acting like a dictator, disenfranchising the public and ignoring the constitution WITH THEIR ACTIONS?

well, he does have a great track record of saying he'll do things and not doing them so why would this be any different

I recognize you aren't necessarily Pro-Biden, you are just adamantly Anti-Trump. You're opinion, and I'll support you having it. But, in fairness, how are things coming along on that 'Moon Shot' effort to cure cancer? I rank that up there wtih Trump having Mexico pay for the wall, but the wall actually happening or not is something people believed possible until congress fought him on it. I'm not sure anyone believed Biden saying his administration would cure cancer. I'll stand by and watch you take justified swings at Trump, but ask you do the same for Biden. Stay fair.

I can't believe the world still has to suffer this big, coagulated, gravy hot dog bun bastard.

To which candidate are you referring? Seems to fit both, IMO.

But hey, he's almost 78, the average lifespan of an adult male, and if you're taller you're more likely to die young since your heart pumps more blood.

Now do Biden.

gas prices have increased but, as jasperkent and others note, it's pretty much out of the president's hands.

in an interview on tuesday trump said "Gas was at – gasoline, $1.83 or $1.86 when I left, a gallon. And now it’s at $7.70 in California, in different places in California, and it’s heading that way everywhere." which is pretty much complete and utter bullshit. all of it.

Would you say blocking domestic oil drilling, thereby lowering global market supply and forcing us to buy at rising prices from other producers....would that be in the President's hands? Because that's a key difference between our two POTUS options. One got us to being a net exporter, whereby we have a significant impact on supply and thereby influence pricing. The other has us paying more for less, without a viable alternative. Now, part of that draw down on our Strategic Petroleum Reserves (SPR) is due to congress, and in part to Biden:

Since 2015 Congress has mandated sales of oil from the reserve to fund federal spending. The U.S. Department of Energy has run at least seven sales since 2017, selling 132 million barrels, or about 18.2% of what had been in the reserve.[8][9]

On March 31, 2022, President Joe Biden announced that his administration would release 1 million barrels of oil per day from the reserve for the next 180 days, selling it at an average price of $96 per barrel. The 2022 release became the largest ever SPR sale and lowered the SPR to its lowest levels in 40 years.[10] After oil prices declined during the second half of the year, in December the administration announced it would begin replenishing the SPR in early 2023, expecting to purchase oil at a lower price than it was sold, a process that would take months or years to complete.[11][12][13] The Biden administration continued to release reserves in 2023, selling off 45% of the SPR by September 2023.[14] The Department of Energy unveiled plans to purchase oil at a price of $79 per barrel or less, but has since purchased oil at higher prices. As of April 2024, further purchases were cancelled due to rising oil prices.[10][15]

According to legislation already in place, the amount of oil in the reserve could fall to 238 million barrels by 2028.[16] This will be a 67% reduction to the oil in the reservoir since 2010.

So, while congress has legistlated a forced sell off to fund other federal programs (I am rage), Biden's plan was to sell off 180m Barrels. Why? Presumably to lower prices. How is that working out? Even better, they are NOT refilling the reserves as planned because the cost is too high...so what is strategic for our nation, is left under supported by the current administration. High prices at the pump for Americans, and low federal reserves. Maybe Biden's getting input from "the smartest man (he) knows" on this one.

Democrats are shooting themselves in the foot with all these restrictions on drilling and forcing EVs and green energy (whose power all comes from fossil fuels anyways).
...
Democrats telling 60 percent of the public that lives check to check and is getting raped at the grocery store and everywhere else with inflation - that the economy is doing great, is a slap in the face to the working class.

Yes, Dems are. Now, look across the aisle and we can see Reps don't even have a plan. Dems have a bad one, and we can critique that, poking holes and making recommendations. Meanwhile, Reps stand around squawking with their thumb up their butts. Make a plan, one better than the Dems. Pretty please?

I get that climate disaster itself will cause suffering; but so will any other way that mass extinctions happen - so some future humans are going to pay the piper one way or another and I don’t really care and it doesn’t matter which way it is.

FTR, I agree that climate change exists. Where I don't agree with the left is that it is immenent and unavoidable unless we cut our own throats right here, right now. Despite the fact we have over 50y of climate catastrophe projections (Ice Ages, Global Warming, any of it)...and nothing has come close to being true; they continue to beat that drum. It also avoids the idea that humans will adapt, as we always have; that science will advance, as it always has. We may not even have an inkling of a solution right now, but there is a lot time between now and when any real impact may begin occurring, if it ever does.

in Washington (the state, not DC) and his town is powered 100% by renewables, no fossils at all. And Washington as a whole never really crawled up the ass of the fossil fuel industry like most states (even California) have... renewables plus nuclear provide over 80% of that state's power, with natural gas making up most of the rest with barely a pittance (3%) of a coal infliction.

Kudos. By memory, solar panels for the last several years have been made to survive about 20-30y, at which point they have to be replaced. The removed components are environmentally incompatible with landfills, so....have we worked out what to do with those? Same with the wind turbines. I have friends in the industry, but they are now finding when they have to replace the blades...the composite materials used aren't biodegradable. They are buried and left for decades similar to uranium. Yay! I've had my house recently reviewed to install solar panels. The pitch is relatively low cost given state and federal subsidies (your tax dollars at work!), and as you point out excess can be sold back into the grid - lowering your overall demand and helping the general need. But for the money I'm actually out of pocket, compared to the cost savings for my home energy...it still works out to about 20y for payback, right when you'll have to replace them again. Financailly, this is a break even at best...no, maybe not with today's higher energy costs, maybe payback comes sooner and you can make some profit before replacing, it is possible. But the heart of my point is that I'm truly happy this is working in some areas. But it isn't ready for America at large - not urban centers, certainly not large cities. I believe some tall apt buildings are using rooftops to collect solar, small help for their building, but more than nothing.

Actually, it doesn't say Texas below his name.

Have you considered testosterone therapy?

This (testosterone remark) helps discussion how? Aside from proving you unable to see what everyone else sees?

the worst people tend to live the longest

No rest for the Wicked? But I thought Pink Floyd taught us Nobody Lives Forever?

>>> NOTE I've replied to a LOT of off-topic posts in this thread. I'll see about working with the mods to get things moved to proper homes so threads in here can be on topic. A proposed thin-down of gov't ought not be littered with bitching about candidates on re-hashed topics, or ones that easily have other threads. We ought be focused on the OP, so lemme get to that for a sec.

Getting back on topic, returning to the OP...

Project 2025: Trump's plan for authoritarian takeover
Why more people aren't disgusted by this is beyond me. Trump has been openly talking about this, and thousands of his followers are already planning it out. It's no secret, they are publicly documenting it and they're very serious.

"It is not enough for conservatives to win elections."

The plan openly describes how Trump wants to give the executive branch ultimate authority, how he will replace every single federal employee with his own, wielding the DOJ to prosecute all of his political opponents, and unleash the military on anyone who protests his actions.

This is absurdly anti constitutional, anti democratic, and evil. This is fascism.

You tripped over the starting line. If you read your link, you'd see that this is a plan created by the Heritage Foundation, and the text of your link actually states "Although the project cannot promote a specific presidential candidate, many contributors have close ties to Donald Trump and the Trump 2024 presidential campaign." This is not created by, nor asked for by, Trump. Let's take a short trip down memory lane, shall we? Are you aware that the Democratic party war games every election? That they have transition plans that include who to put in which positions when their candidate takes the White House? It's smart, very smart. They know before they get there who will be assigned where, and what their directives and goals will be. No waste of time, no futzing about on who to appoint, get in and get going, fast.

Compare that to Trump's first term where he left several in positions that were either incompetent, or working in opposition to his direction. Of the appointees he brought in, how many were blithering idiots, unable to work with him, or both, and left/got fired? He may have had some sort of agenda, but it was loosely defined and he brought no plan to bear - no known appointess with clear directives, and a lot of dead or counter weight in the administration. Stupid and ineffective.

Heritage Foundation is a conservative think tank who saw this blundering compared to the Dem machine that is years ahead of any election and decided to start doing something comparable from a conservative view. Does Trump, or any other Rep POTUS have to follow it? No, it's an option. Do they have to follow it to a tee, or can they adopt parts and ignore parts? It's a plan, an option, not a requirement and not an all-or-nothing. But the Project 2025 is a strong step in the right direction to bring conservative goals to the executive branch, with an actual plan. I've not read the details, but I do know the gist of major reduction in gov't offices is a primary goal. In a general sense, the left wants more gov't using tax dollars to even the playing field, whereas conservatives want more free market and let the playing field sort out the winners and losers. Of course, we have the libertarians who want virtually no gov't, and honestly somedays I lean more that way myself. But, without this plan, Reps have no plan. None at all. Will it be the roadmap used? It may have portions adopted by a Rep POTUS, but I doubt it will be followed fully or perfectly.

And there is a good part of America that is sick and tired of a bloated, over reaching gov't. Who is the largest employer in North America? And what, exactly, do they produce? How much of our annual federal budget is supporting these positions? We need to significantly cut the budget - this is a step in that direction. We need to reign in the beauracratic state - this is a step in that direction. Let us presume we don't reduce gov't. What are your (anyone on the left) fears about a Trump administration using FBI and DOJ the way Biden has to classify American's as terrorist, say if you are pro-choice? This is a lesson the left never learns - all the power they weild against the right CAN be used against them later. If Trump changes out leadership and significantly reduces gov't agencies....does this not disarm him of that ability to persecute the left?

There is the inherent danger that we rotate out leadership every 4 years and in doing so completely overhaul agencies. This is a bad thing in that it whipsaws the country in terms of priorities, the ability to maintain an understanding of what's acceptable and not, etc. If we are swapping out hundreds of thousands of employees yearly, the work those agencies can accomplish is effectively reduced to 1.5-3.5 years, and likely reversed the following term. If those agencies are thinned down, their impact is lessened on American citizens, and any changes with administrations is also thereby limited. For example, I'd love to see the Dept. of Education blown up and reduced to a very small handful (~100?) of persons. They set the standards by which Americans are expected to achieve upon exiting HS or College, but it is then left to the states on how they get their populations up to those standards. States determine how to manage public schools with their tax dollars, how to manage home schooling and alternatives in reaching those goals. There is no federal funding to these schools (lower the fed taxes collected, let the states decide to collect it instead, or not, as they see fit to reach the goals), the fed only provides the standards we need to reach to be competitive on the global stage. Cali wants to allow trans indoctrination in the schools? Fine. Pennsylvania wants to add taxes for schools to increase athletics, or academic competitions? Fine. But the citizens in that state have the freedom to move to where academic programs match their beliefs and accepted methods. There is no 'one size fits all' as dictated by the DoE on how you achieve the goals, only that we have all citizens achieve expected levels of competence.

Back to Project 2025, did you read the part where Heritage Foundation has been making such 'Leadership Mandates' since 1981? To include pre-vetting of appointee candidates, as well as policy goals and implementation plans. Why has it never been mentioned as a facistic threat before? Are you aware the DNC machine has made these kinds of plans going back generations....and there isn't concern being raised? The article you linked is about the Biden admin working to install roadblocks to such changes to the Executive branch - to protect those workers. These are career gov't employees, many people I know fall into this group (even my own mom) but it is also an organization bloated with incompetence that cannot be fired - ask any of them about co-workers that need to be exited, and how nothing is done other perhaps re-assignment. This is your tax dollars at work, paying in some cases pure incompetence to do unneccessary jobs the free market could address better, cheaper, and with improved results. I'm not saying every gov't employee is an idiot, I mean, I love my mom. But I defy you to keep a straight face in claiming there isn't waste in gov't. Currently there is no way to address it, the problem simply continues to get worse, and eats at our fed budget in doing so.

Strange parallels to Argentina...

Argentina...how's that working out for him so far? Last I heard he had the first federal budget surplus in 16y, and is continuing on that trajectory. Cut a TON of bloat and corruption out of the system. Let's see if the citizens find an improved free market life, or if they truly needed all those gov't agencies to help them. My money is on the former.

This is part of the problem of all those alphabet soup government agencies wielding so much power and being considered part of the executive branch. They can basically do anything and form such a large part of the government. The executive branch has grown far larger than it ever should have.

Yes. Fully agree.

Did you bump into this yet?

I think it's kind of interesting. Is Trump turning over a new leaf and firing corrupt people?

Trump is hiring goons. It's kind of fun to watch him destroy the RNC/GOP at this point.

Heh, in both these comments I have a few thoughts. For the RNC, I see it as largely 'swamp draining' as there are many who have been embedded and would continue to work aganist him for the uniparty. I hate to see the nepotism, but she isn't getting lone control, she is co-chair (so both keep eachother honest) and he knows she will keep his goals as supported by the party. The left will claim he is installing blind loyalists. Perhaps, but as a conservative I have to hope he is doing better and finding COMPETENT people he can rely on. I truly believe he has learned at least something from his first term and the staffing problems he inflicted upon himself. After he wins in November, the rest of the Executive branch ought be put under the same clean out. He threatened to drain the swamp in his first go, and greatly understimated the uniparty entrenchment and his own ability to overcome it. This time he knows better, but will he do better?
