What confuses me is that there are so many conflicting conspiracy theories.
Myth or bioweapon? 5G or Illuminati? Influenza in a hat or population control? Meteor, Muslims, Canadians or Chinse? It's almost as if people choose their own psychosis and will defend their position using the entire range of FLICC and when it's pointed out that they are using FLICC... they add some more FLICC. That's not merely unscientific, it's psychotic. Someone whose delicate reality has to be defended at all costs.

I provide citations, others unironically post Youtube videos and consider them to be of equal weight in terms of evidence (although given the speed of responses, no way are the citations being read). Long, nuanced pieces that importantly understand and state the limitations of their work vs anecdotal evidence extrapolated to fit a preconceived belief.
You cannot change someone's belief using unbiased, well researched evidence if their current believe wasn't arrived at using unbiased, well researched evidence. Someone unironically citing an article in a popular magazine as their KEY piece of evidence suggests someone not understanding how science works. By all means find the articles the magazine cites. Read them, understand them and cite them. But you cannot get much nuance or indeed much science in a 500 words.

Spamming links to papers about how any deviation from the consensus narrative is 'psychotic' and 'schizophrenic'. Without any other context provided what else can one presume about this person, other than the fact they themselves can't adjust to other possibilities just like the people who write those papers (who obviously have an inherent bias).

Behold - a meta-analysis. The most comprehensive and most most valuable class of evidence.
It makes no bold claims. Anyone who makes a bold claim requires high quality evidence. But you always find the highest QUALIY evidence as a foundation to pursuing further evidence.
But if someone is invested in a belief, all contrary evidence is dismissed as conspiracy while even anecdotal evidence is uncritically accepted as being high quality evidence.
I'm just kind of showing people that this behavior is recognized and has been analysed.

So, where are the studies from these same people about:
- The potential and realised damages to the psychological health of children caused by lockdown policies.
- The potential and realised damages to the psychological health of all age groups, caused by incessant and hysterical government media briefings.
- The potential and realised damage to physical health of all age groups, by mandating people be locked up in their residence.
You see, the difference is that the questions that need asking were never even attempted because they would conflict with the vector of the government/s, despite the [now evident] damages their policies created. And yet, someone somewhere is funding papers that are nothing more than government hit pieces designed to gaslight people into not straying beyond the confines of the government narrative.
And you have the audacity to insinuate people like me are psychotic or delusional, by posting these garbage government puff pieces. Anyone with two brain cells can see the incongruence in actual behaviour as alluded to in the previous paragraph. It is self evident enough that the government/s are completely full of shit and foisting bullshit on to the public.

I think it's more psychotic to believe that tens of millions of doctors and medical scientists are all in on some huge grand conspiracy. It's akin to still believing the US never went to the moon.

Well I don't. I also don't agree with your framing of it as a 'grand' conspiracy (on behalf of the medical professionals). I think it's perfectly explainable using conventional understanding about psychology.
The 20th century has shown quite clearly how entire populations can be mentally subjugated through the use of propaganda and technology. And that's to reach a state of mind that is in stark contrast to the normality, whereas in the context of covid you already have medical professionals fully trained and conditioned into a certain way of thinking. On top of that, you also have the sunk cost fallacy.. medical professionals invest many years of their life and identity into their profession, and eventually reap the financial rewards for it too.. and you also have the political/regulatory pressure coming from the top that keeps people from speaking out.
There is a tremendous psychological force acting upon these people. Not to mention if they have a mortgage and family relying on their paycheque.
I mean for christ sake, we literally saw people being threatened with losing their jobs, in many different fields in many different countries, if they didn't take the vaccine. What do you think that is exactly? That is a clear demonstration of psychological coercion in action, and everything I have alluded to in the second paragraph is just an extension of that basic principle (albeit more self inflicted somewhat).
You should read the books by Joost Meerloo M.D, a Dutch psychologist who survived the Nazi incursions and witnessed the techniques applied. It might help you understand how something like this can actually happen. It doesn't require a 'grand conspiracy', only an abuse of position and power by those at the top who understand which psychological levers to pull to manipulate the target minds.
