The 1948 Arab–Israeli War, also known as the First Arab–Israeli War, followed the civil war in Mandatory Palestine as the second and final stage of the 1948 Palestine war. It formally began following the end of the British Mandate for Palestine at midnight on 14 May 1948; the Israeli Declaration of Independence had been issued earlier that day, and a military coalition of Arab states entered the territory of British Palestine in the morning of 15 May.

Pretty nice neighbours to invade the day after you get a Jewish homeland after the Nazis tried to exterminate them.

Yes, the war in the mid east has been happening between the same basic players for thousands of years.
I'm not saying that Israel deserves to own it because they were the rightful owners due to that, just that it is a very, very old conflict. They conquered the area from the peoples who lived there when they left Egypt when Ramses was Pharaoh. The current mid east occupying countries (Iraq, Iran, etc) conquered that area when the Moors invaded in Northern Africa and Europe in 711 AD.

The Hebrews did not invade the land it presently occupies, it was given to them by Britain (the then current rulers) after WWII. There was no Palestine at that time. The Nation of Palastine is a conglomeration of peoples who contested the British government's gift of the Nation of Israel to the Hebrew people.

No surrounding Muslim country wants to accept "Palestinian Refugees". Not Egypt, Iraq, Yemen or Iran. These Muslim countries are using "Palestine" as a proxy to kill and possibly eliminate all Jewish people. They encourage the fight because it is to their advantage.

There is no clear rightful owner. There is no country clearly in the right and the other in the wrong. Both parties are fighting a 5000 year blood feud. The US should not be involved.

So Israel became a Jewish state, armies invaded to kill the Jews, and then you seem surprised that there was consequences to that action including the displacement of people who wanted to kill the Jews because they got their own country.

I try, but sometimes I have to talk to people in ways they will understand.

It's hard to have a conversation when people use laughing emojis for topics that include rape and murder.

They lived in relative peace inside the Muslim Occupied British controlled land.
Once Britain relinquished control the Muslim countries not only fought Israel, but each other as well. These Muslim countries are even now only united against Israel. They would be fighting against each other if there was no outside "enemy" to fight.

The British Empire temporarily moderated the conflict of all concerned.
 
I think people tend to forget that Hamas has been continually launching dozens of missiles per day into Israel, every single day, for more than 20 years. With no strategic intent other than to kill civilians and terrorize the people. Frankly I'm surprised Israel has not tried to invade Palestine sooner.

Its crazy Israel has been putting up with these daily attacks for so long. Of course, the Iron Dome intercepts a good portion of these missiles which is why they haven't suffered more deaths, but it would be a moot point to suggest that's a reason they should tolerate these missile attacks.

They're also launched from Lebanon and Yemen... because these Muslim groups want to kill and eradicate Jews.

This shows all the missiles launched from Gaza in the last 30 days.

Remember that British control of the former Ottoman Empire land began after the first world war.

It is very much a 5000 year old conflict.

Abraham had a son: Issac

Issac sent Ishmael and his mother Sarah, to the desert. Mohammad was a descendant of Ishmael and formed the Muslim religion.
Issac gave all his wealth by inheritance to Jacob. All modern Jews are descended from Jacob through Issac.

So it is literally the descendants of one brother fighting the descendants of another because of "possessions".

Abraham was the father of 3 religions: Jewish Muslim and Christian.

It is the most senseless war imaginable.

The "Pride of Man" is showing strongly, yet again.

How do you say that Palestine is being used as a proxy to kill Jews but then say neither side is clearly right or wrong? I understand and agree that neither side has an absolute or divine "claim" to the land, but as you say it was legally given to them by Britain. They fought a war and established independence.

It seems to me that Israel is far from perfect but is still clearly in the right given all the circumstances.

You are right that doesn't mean the Palestinian people are wrong...but Hamas certainly is. I also don't know how you expect the US not to be involved at all. If we didn't have a strategic presence there, Iran would certainly become more tempted to intervene.
 
Hamas has fired nearly 10,000 rockets at Israel since their initial terror attack, with the intent to kill as many Jews as possible.

We need to objectively look at the death toll. If Israel did NOT have the Iron Dome, I think it's safe to assume that there would be even more Israeli deaths than Palestine. If all 10,000 rockets landed, there would be far more dead Israelis than Palestinians.

Intent is 9/10ths of the law.

just because there was a conflict in the past, doesn't mean the current conflict is the same.

Again, you can't just make statements and ignore the facts that contradict them.

Hey can you try at least to understand the points people are making to you?

The only reason Hamas hasn't killed more people is because they are inferior to Israel militarily. That doesn't stop them from trying. So all those charts people like to hold up on tv interviews are a nice prop but they lack all context and a true sense of what is going on.

You think it's weird that people with inaccurate and unguided rockets terrorize civilians but frequently cause little damage because it's low grade technology, and the people getting counterattacked with modern weapons and using civilians as human shields are dying at a higher rate?


Like its weird that more Taliban and Afghans died fighting with old rifles against US marines with night vision and M4s?

Because understanding these facts would mean admitting that Hamas is a terrorist organization that launches rockets to cause terror as they are without the ability to hit military targets.
