Of course Gaza doesn't represent Islam or Muslims, but to deny the religious motivation on the behalf of Hamas is to miss a key point. Hamas themselves have explicitly stated that their aim is to create an Islamic state based on Islamic law in Israel/Palestine. And of course, the illegal settlements in the West Bank were largely motivated by religious Zionist thought. The conflict becomes more palatable if the west see it as oppressed vs oppressor, but it has a deeper origin than that. And one that we need to understand for there to be any possible solution.
 
i mean, i myself made a similar argument earlier on in this thread, iirc... if course there is much religious motivation... i just mean we as outsiders should not play into it by framing it as simply a religious thing. playing into the religious team sport thing seems to me to add to the bigotry.
 
Pro Palestine marches getting bigger and bigger around the world.
Hopefully as ground operations push further the Israeli death toll increases.

Yea the religious angle has been constant, especially in people saying that majority Muslim countries should take on the refugees for some reason

Why do you want the Israeli death toll to increase? I support Palestine and I want the death to stop all around, killing each other is not a good thing
